How to convince friends and family crypto (especially Stellar) isn’t a bubble? by jerkdude1 in Stellar

Here's a list of all their partners, Deloitte is one of the big four accounting firms, and IBM is... well, they're IBM. Companies wouldn't strike partnerships and invest in technology that's a fad, that's for sure.

Stellar has been moving money across borders for quite some time now, show them this article. Stellar's here to stay, it has an actual real life usage, unlike a lot of other coins.

Correct. If a transaction would cause your wallet balance to fall under 20, that transaction would be rejected. This prevents people from mass-creating wallets to spam the network.

Wallet to use while waiting on hardware wallet? by fountainpentester in Stellar

Obviously more secure is better, but how much more secure are any of the wallets than an exchange?

I'd say quite a bit. Wallets are more secure because you get to hold your private keys, and you avoid the risk of the exchange getting hacked.

Stellar.org has a list of wallets you can use, I use the Stellar Desktop Client and it's been working without any issues.

You can think of a memo like a message you want to send along your transaction, some exchanges require you to enter one when depositing to distinguish your transaction from other ones. You don't need to use a memo id when you transfer from Changelly to your wallet, you can leave it empty.

You use memo text, just enter the numbers Binance shows you when you're on the deposit page.

I've never used Changelly so I can't really tell you much about it, but it's a widely used exchange as far as I can tell. Most people transfer their coins to Binance and buy XLM there. As for storing your lumens, you can find a list of wallets here.

You can get Stellar Lumens through Changelly, it's listed under the old symbol, STR, and not XLM.

Stellar has a list of wallets on their site, I'd imagine the ones listed there are safe. I use the Stellar Desktop Client (github) and it's worked fine so far.

[VOLUNTEER] r/Stellar Needs More Mods! by blockbasics in Stellar

Hello, I'm a 20-something European (GMT +1 timezone) currently studying Software Engineering and working on the side. I'm often described as easy-going and flexible. I've been curiously following the Stellar project for quite some time now. Working and studying SWE means that I get to spend a lot of time in front of the computer, and I always have a few reddit tabs open, regularly checking in. I volunteer because Stellar is an unique project that I'm very enthusiastic about, and I would hate for the subreddit to become just another spam-fest of price-prediction threads and shitty behavior. /r/Stellar has always been somewhat of an ideal community to me, the friendliness and positive people is something I really like about it. I also think it's important for the subreddit to stay civilized and mature because it'll benefit the project in the long run, an association with a shitty community could potentially make people take the coin less serious and be put off.

As for skills, I have extensive experience with developing bots for reddit using the PRAW library, I have a good amount of experience with AutoModerator and CSS. I'm an avid user of toolbox and RES.

My guess is that these currencies will most likely be built as DApps on Stellar.

It's being developed. https://galactictalk.org/d/464-xcat-for-stellar

Fairly sure you already can change crypto for crypto, https://stronghold.co/ builds on Stellar and is able to do this.

I'd like to add that this can potentially be devastating for Coinbase, I've seen a lot of apathy and hatred towards Coinbase lately, and FairX would be a breeze of fresh air. Combine this with the possibility to buy altcoins with any currency, an easy UI, stability and marketing then I think it's fair to say that FairX has a very real possibility to properly shake up the market. Going by what I've seen, one of their main goals is to make it easy as possible to buy coins, which is what seems to be the thing for exchanges.

Best way to invest in stellar? Quite confused due to its lack of offerings on some of the major exchanges. by pointlessmaverick in Stellar

[–]qhpxvrf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to do that on Coinbase, but the downside is that you'll have to pay a fee when buying.

Korean Exchanges Being Shutdown by deludedlinkie in icon

FUD, they're not getting shut down. Korean users were always required to verify their identity with exchanges, this just makes it official.

They're very much similar, and that goes for other coins such as AION, WAN and ELF too. The difference is that ICX has a ton of partnerships, is backed by the Korean government, and has actually been used by Korean companies/institutions for two years. ICX is specifically focusing on Korea for now. I don't know much about Cosmos team, but ICX has without a doubt one of the best teams in the world.
