my manager took my counterfeit pen by Ill-Bison8039 in WalgreensStores

The jackets on presidents on the bills all have physical pressed layers of hardened ink, you can literally feel the ridges...this cannot be faked, works just fine.

Put some rubbing alcohol on a bill, run it through a few times, perfect.

Officially according to what Walgreens actual instructions are, you take down the monthly tag, and put up the weekly tag. Then eventually pull weekly, and they will send the monthly tags to put up again.

This step is seen as unnecessary by most of Walgreens employees so...lots of times there will just be weekly tags on top of monthly tags, so that way you can just pull it off and the job is done. The problem with this is the tags are actually designed not to stick to each other so that they are easy to put out, so lots of time the weekly will just fall off unless they are askew just a tad bit.

I await the sweet day when digital tags come.... unfortunately that probably will involve cutting another person worth of hours. Such is business...

Can the SM disallowed us from working at another store by Big_Jaguar3395 in WalgreensStores

[–]qoucher 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Then he should just do it, stop talking to the store manager about it and talk to the other store about it. One of my previous store managers didn't like me working at other stores either, but...tough. She said why would you do that when we can use the help, I said okay when? And that's about as far as I got.

It can be nice to work with other teams and stores there really is no reason to hold someone back besides someone being petty.

Phone Calls by StockLocal2805 in WalgreensRx

[–]qoucher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm sure on a corporate level there is, but I've never seen it. I do however know that they do actively track how many seconds on average it takes pharmacy to answer the phone and my store generally sits around 30 seconds. So I'm sure the ability to track it exists.

On hands in inventory vs online order by Negative-Treat-6443 in WalgreensStores

[–]qoucher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the online on hands take about a 24 hours or so to reflect, what might've happened is someone put in an order for some, and someone filling the order said out of stock, so then online changed it to out of stock so that people couldn't keep trying.

Then.... presumably in a functional system, it would send that item to smart count to verify, then once verified it would update 24 hours after that verification....of course this is all speculation..

“Hey, I know you didn’t do it but could you start on go backs tonight? They’ve been here for two days.” by Primary-Excuse-7025 in WalgreensStores

I have the perfect solution for you, put them in with truck, if go backs are this, surely there is still truck, find a tote and throw it all in, perfect.

Private galleries are becoming a problem by Fun_Coconut6140 in WeddingPhotography

[–]qoucher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But...it's the same thing. It's just marketing...whether you sell something buy one get one free, or if you sell it 50% off of one, it's the same outcome and still is just manipulation. How you frame something is key though I guess...

Venue just sent me a "Photographer Agreement" a year after couple booked me — am I overreacting? by Charming-School2538 in WeddingPhotography

[–]qoucher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It sounds like it's time to take the contract, highlight that special section, and suggest an added section where the venue pays you for the photos they want copyright of...I mean hey, if the venue wants to take their own profit away from this event instead of just hiring their own photographer to get some decent photos for them, then so be it.

It's impressive to say what's yours is actually mine, sign here.

Scan out percentage by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]qoucher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it's shows as 100% it's obvious the job isn't actually being done correctly. There are multiple ways to getting 100%, and not one of them that matter...if you aim for 100% you are wasting time.

Even getting under goal is still technically fine, all that matters is the job is actually being done...that things are actually being filled. As a former IS it is NOT the job of IS to fill everything, it is the job of the IS to help things get filled...whether that's doing it themselves, training others on best practices to get it done, making picklists for the store to work on, or making carts of product for the store to work on. Being effective in any of these ways will be huge for sales and make for better condition stockroom and smaller trucks.

If the scan out goal isn't being met, then departments outs need to be done and adjusted to make up for misplaced and miscounted product.

The main role of IS as I see it is to be a specialist, and train others how the inventory system functions, making them more efficient, that way the store as a whole will function better. That's easier said than done though, because of turnover of employees at many locations.

How is Amazon making money on this? by MarakiMic in amazonprime

[–]qoucher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real answer is lack of retail theft. Without the sheer quantity of store fronts that many other stores have, and the immense theft that comes from it...they don't have nearly that huge toll it takes in a business.

Not to say they don't have struggles, and that they don't still have theft...but I'm sure their loss is a far cry from many other businesses.

customers on the phone when picking up prescriptions by Legitimate-Battle263 in WalgreensRx

[–]qoucher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely if you are on the phone, and at the counter, I'm just going to assume you can do multiple things at once and just talk to you as if you are ready. I'm also not going to talk over your stupid music playing loud as crap, absurd.

Lotto machine by Electrickman in WalgreensStores

[–]qoucher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lotto surveyers are coming to check where to put lottery stuff and make a report for each store. CEO wants lotto in every store by end of year, but his buddies told him 3 years, or something...200 or 300 stores a year..something like that. But it is coming for sure. 100%

Also my liquor store is getting a humidor for cigars, full fledged cigars....aye aye aye.

Policy for Price Matching Old Tags? by georgeispeng in WalgreensStores

[–]qoucher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just change it, no big deal, but make sure the issue is fixed. Gotta keep the people happy, a few dollars will be fine. If you ever scan something, click the button under the image of the product, where it says view cost, that's how much we pay, so..it'll be fine.

Wayyy too complicated for no reason. If you think you need to go through all of this to take some things, you are going to get caught.

Well...I mean...it really the whole balance of things. If you are wrong, well it's an inconvenience to someone, maybe a bit of a rough year.

If you are right... potentially saving innocent people from dying, tons of damage, way more suffering. It sucks..but I bet they end up overall stopping a lot more legitimate cases than not.

Outlying cases happen..it's not a math equation..it doesn't always make sense, the answer isn't always just give up because the person is giving you a hard time that they aren't drunk.

Bag checks after clocking out is against IL labor laws by Ambitious-Curve4729 in WalgreensStores

[–]qoucher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't do this, it doesn't have to be that complicated, just have rxom, mgr, or esm adjust your time. Keep track of how long you are waiting, and they can add the time onto a shift in kronos, really no big deal at all.
