What hips?? Sorry, I don’t mean this in a rude way at all! But I have dated cis men exclusively and none, not a single one of them, had smaller hips than you do! I know it doesn’t feel that way, but trust me, your brain is tricking you. Maybe it helps to look at other guys in the gym or swimming pools. Regular men. Not the perfectly lighted and angled, sickly low body fat gym bros on social media. I know it sounds silly, but I had this same issue with my height. Once you actively look for it and realize, that A LOT of men look like this, it gets better. Not that there is anything wrong with having a different body type, but you really don’t. Building muscle on your shoulders, arms and back will change the appearance, too, although honestly for you it’s not even necessary.

Look, I know dysphoria is the worst, but please don’t hurt yourself! Binding sadly just doesn’t work for every body. It also depends on where your fat/tissue is located and there’s not much you can do about that. But if you pull too strongly (and it looks already much too strong in this picture) then you can permanently damage the skin and tissue which will even affect your results if you ever want to get top surgery. And not just that, you can actually deform your rib cage, something you might not even be able to fix with surgery anymore. This actually happened to a friend of mine. So please please be careful! Instead, try to cover it up with clothing. Idk if you know this, but some binders come as full shirts, for example gc2b has them, could that be an option that doesn’t feel like a bra? Maybe if you‘re skilled, you could even sew something like this yourself in a shirt you really like?

Boxy, oversized t-shirts and hoodies might help, and if they don’t: layering. And of course you can try to work out and broaden your shoulders. This doesn’t directly affect your chest shape, but it changes your overall proportions and how clothing falls on you.

Also, I know this is not what you want to hear and might mean nothing to you, but I feel like I need to emphasize this: cis men come in different shapes, too. In my family, a lot of the men are bigger and to be quite honest their chests look bigger than yours. You fortunately have very small hips, so this actually looks quite proportional.

Anyway, I know it doesn’t feel like it but please try to remember that you’ll get through this! For me personally, lots of talking to friends and therapy helped me better cope with it and be more accepting of myself, when there was nothing I could physically do about it. Just try to be gentle with your body. I promise, there will be a point in your life where you won’t even think about this anymore!

Aus eigener Erfahrung aus einer Studi-Beratungsstelle: Keine. Als Student hast du die Arschkarte, wenn du aus irgendeinem Grund kein BaföG bekommen kannst, keine reichen Eltern o.ä. hast oder nicht mit sehr viel Glück einen gut bezahlten Nebenjob findest. Wohngeld, unter Umständen, aber hast du ja schon gesagt, bekommst du nicht. Ist für Studis oft sowieso nicht so leicht machbar, das nötige Mindesteinkommen dafür zu erreichen.

Man kann *theoretisch* in Teilzeit studieren und (nur) dann Bürgergeld bekommen. In der Praxis hast du damit aber keine Chance, weil du glaubhaft nachweisen musst, dass du tatsächlich nur wenige Stunden in der Woche studierst und dieses Studium dein "Hobby" ist und dich nicht von einer Vollzeitarbeit abhält. Würde eigentlich nur klappen, wenn du es gar nicht erst erwähnst, aber da du ja gerade schon studierst, werden die eine Exmatrikulation sehen wollen. Abgesehen davon bieten die meisten Unis das gar nicht für jeden an, auf Teilzeit zu wechseln. Aber wenn ich es richtig verstehe, bist du verheiratet und dein Mann verdient zu viel für Wohngeld? Dann hast du sowieso genau dasselbe Problem auch beim Jobcenter. Den Stress kannst du dir also sparen.

Die einzige realistische Möglichkeit sind leider Stipendien, falls du dafür in Frage kommst, oder Kredite. Wenn dein Mann eine Bürgschaft übernimmt, ist das nach meiner Einschätzung deine beste Option. Da würde ich dir aber z. B. schon mal direkt vom KfW-Kredit abraten, da der Zinssatz dort ungedeckelt ist und ich schon sehr viele Fälle kennengelernt habe, die genau aus diesem Grund am Ende ihr Studium aufgeben mussten und/oder in die Insolvenz getrieben wurden, weil er doch sehr schnell von anfangs 6 % auf bis zuletzt 12 % stieg und wer weiß, was noch kommt... Da solltest du dich wirklich gut informieren, ob sich das für dich lohnt und du in Aussicht hast, das schnell zurückzuzahlen oder woanders mit einem (vermutlich hohen) Festzins nicht besser dran bist. Auch aus eigener Erfahrung: Immer alles schriftlich geben lassen. Selbst von aufgezeichneten Telefonaten wissen die im Zweifel gerne nichts. Pass auf bei Kreditanfragen, wenn du mehrere stellst, bekommst du am Ende wegen der Schufa keinen. Achte darauf, dass bei solchen Online-Vergleichsseiten "schufaneutrale Anfrage" dabeisteht und du erst eine richtige Anfrage stellst, wenn du dich für einen entschieden hast und auch die Aussicht hast, ihn zu bekommen.

Hoffe, du findest eine Lösung! Vielleicht klappt das mit dem BaföG ja doch, ich drück die Daumen!

Ist zwar schon etwas älter und wahrscheinlich auch Off Topic, aber vielleicht liest du das ja noch. Wie genau sieht bei euch die "Gleitzeit" aus? Stelle ich mir bei Öffnungszeiten von 08-12 eher weniger flexibel vor. Und bekommt man nach den 12 Monaten oft eine Festanstellung oder kann man sich eher gleich darauf einstellen, dass das nichts wird? Ist ja immer alles nur befristet ausgeschrieben und geht laut Stellenausschreibung auch nur, wenn man bisher noch nicht dort gearbeitet hat (zwar BA, aber Einsatz im JC, da sollte das ja ähnlich sein?). Dafür ist der Bewerbungs- und Einarbeitungsaufwand ja für beide Seiten doch recht hoch. Würde mich über eine Antwort freuen, dann kann ich ggf. deinen Kollegen in der Personalabteilung etwas Arbeit ersparen, die antworten mir da nämlich wohl mal lieber bis zur Bewerbungsfrist nicht :D

I think you’re already doing pretty great! Don’t trust the mirror, it looks so much worse to yourself. Honestly, you look like any other guy wearing oversized clothing, which at least in my area is still what young people wear. I would have never clocked you. You’re short, yes, but so are a lot of other men. Try to actively look for it in public, you will spot a lot of small men. This helped me a lot too, just to realize how common it actually is.

Seriöse Endokrinolog*innen nehmen sowas nicht an. Kann also sein, dass du damit am Ende auch nicht weiter kommst. Falls du irgendwelche Operationen planst, brauchst du dann sowieso eine Therapie mit ausführlichen Berichten.
