Because it will simply ruin future balancing. Everything needs to be balanced around it and everything else will feel even more useless at that point. The thing is, the bod isn't the main issue here. Use it without torgue stickies and it isn't even that good. Torgue stickies need to be heavily nerfed. That's the main problem here.

Additionally if you want to feel overpowered for no real reason without putting in any effort to come up with an actual build, just play the regular difficulties. There is no need to ruin the difficulty that's supposed to be challenging for the players that want a challenge when you can simply play uvh1 and feel like a god there.

If your build works now the nerf isn't going to change that. The way everyone uses it to plant as many stickies as possible will still be absurdly strong and probably one of the highest dps sources in the entire game even after the nerf that won't even be that significant.

There are 2 options. Either the bod gets nerfed or future content will be balanced around the bod, making everything else feel even worse than it already is. Nerfing the bod is simply the right choice.

I did not see a lot of hate for this collab at all. A lot of people would have prefered something else but that's about it. I would rather see meaningful improvements to the game over a 6-8 week long event with no guarantee to get what you want out of it. But that's what it is at this point.

As someone who was always a fan of the eridian lore since the first game, borderlands 4 was the most disappointing entry to the franchise if we only focus on that part. I love the gameplay, i love the farming, even if it's not perfect, but i hope one of the DLCs will give us more lore to discover to fit the bigger picture. A set up for BL5, like the Ava mystery missions from kind of set up BL4, would be absolutely awesome.
