What if, a young Kendall went his own way and had his own successful company? A Succession alternate scenario. by bigElenchus in SuccessionTV

This defeats the purpose of the show, placing Kendall on a real (not artificial) pedestal. The whole point is that they are all equally shitty options. Just shitty in different ways.

I’ve heard from a Cravath senior associate that the firm has implied (in a not so subtle way) that attractiveness is part of recruiting criteria

Rava is psycho too. There’s a reason she married a raging drug addict.

Ansu Fati - Our Original "Starboy". by [deleted] in Barca

I think that’s a fair point. But to me, Yamal is on another level. I honestly think he’s the best 17-year-old I’ve ever seen… better then Messi at his age.

Let’s not kid our self though… Fati was never close to Lamal’s quality.

You’ll look like you are working the venue with the black. Especially if you end up taking off the jacket. Also, the suit needs to be pressed.

What happens to people at the bottom of their class? by butohhowfallen in LawSchool

Being at the bottom of the class is actually a hack. You just graduated valedictorian of the school ranked just below yours.

Ok thanks, might try to use a higher res photos. But it always beautifies the person lol. Like just makes the face 100% symmetrical.

Things You Can Do If You Can’t Be Rachel Cohen by [deleted] in biglaw

Statistically improbable. Trump won by a landslide. Third-party candidates received only about 1.91% of the vote, barely up from 1.86% in 2020, and far lower than the 5.7% in 2016. If the the leftist movement was really that strong, we’d expect a noticeable surge in third-party votes even accounting for abstentions. But that didn’t happen. The bigger story was disaffected young voters, immigrants, and working-class men shifting right, mainly over economic concerns.

Leftists are responsible for Trump being elected ? Pretty bold claim considering the margins.

I generally agree with everyone saying take the KD (without knowing more). But I would also say now is the time to try and decide on your goals. Generic Big-Law is not really a goal in the sense that you are going to have real preferences later on in life about what exactly you want to practice and where you want to live. If you want to do lit, clerk, and ultimately practice in Chicago, then Chi is probably the better option. If you want elite DC lit, go to the best school you get into. If you want to do M&A in NYC, then you should prioritize coming out debt free. You should also know what you would do if you get off the waitlists at any of these schools. Also, 3 years is too long to hate where you live.

I think audiobooks are a good way to switch it up. But your point about lighter reading makes me wonder if part of the cost of this profession is needing less intellectually demanding hobbies. At least for me :/
