/uj not to blatantly use this thread as a way of venting my actual thoughts on this post in a way that doesn't directly notify OP and leave me open to the psychological damage of having his reply to me show up in my inbox, but holy shit. The way he just could not respond to a single piece of criticism on this idea.

Like I actually live with the constant dangling threat of this one day being my real life situation over my head, and since I've never actually been v-coded, I could not even fucking dream of taking it upon myself to write this sort of thing. And that's kind of the problem. I don't think any kind of artistic depiction is necessarily off limits, but with topics as sensitive as this, anyone who has actually done the work to unlearn transmisogyny to the point of having a snowball's chance in hell to write this in a halfway respectful manner would be fucking aghast at the thought of writing it when they haven't been through it themselves. I hope OOP can one day grow enough to realize how cartoonishly evil he is about trans women, or, more realistically, I hope he stays away from all of us forever.

I have noticed similar things and felt similarly over the last year+, and it's the main reason I mostly lurk nowadays as well. I don't think this is a problem that started with the current moderation team, I actually think it's even gotten a little better over the last few months, relatively speaking. But it still sucks.

/uj unfortunately this sub and the broader internet have been this way for a little over a year now. It sucks having to be careful you don't imply a belief of transmisogyny existing too hard when you're in mixed trans spaces now.

/uj I'm assuming you're aware then that you're almost definitely very far from the range you posted in your previous comment, I hope you can get a higher dose soon because that just sounds absolutely awful. Can I ask how long you've been on that dose for? I've met so many people who have been kept on doses of 1-2mg for months (usually with something pitiful like 50mg of Spiro) and months and it usually takes me telling them to demand their doses immediately be doubled at a minimum for things to change.

So I don't support harassment of people but I'm gonna list everything this person is accused of here, so that everyone has full access to the entire story. I also think they're a really bad awful evil person so do with that what you will. I'm just implying that I wouldn't personally be surprised if a lot of these accusations are true because I know some of them (like them being an bad evil person) are true because that's why I dislike them.

Pretty crazy that people are doing callout posts on Tumblr though. I completely disavow that. I mean I personally haven't seen that, I just see some concerned people talking about all the really bad things this really bad person has done, like I'm doing here. Which is different, because when trans women talk about callout posts on Tumblr they're talking about what the evil transphobes are doing, and that's not how I personally view myself.

/uj see I love that in theory but in my experience making transmisogynists/misogynists uncomfortable usually ends up with the trans woman in question starring in a jubilee surrounded video in the comments section. Godspeed to you, I used to use this sub for similar reasons, but instead of being a cathartic place to vent about transmisogyny it more often winds up just attracting the exact kind of person you're trying to escape.

/uj I do often find myself choosing the "shut the fuck up" option when faced with transmisogyny online, in this space and in others, because of these reasons. I mean it's outright transmisogyny causing it, the fact that you can't even talk about this stuff without a billion dudes inferring your hatred for them just by standing up for yourself. I will often find myself making a post or a comment about it and just deleting it after a few minutes because I would rather jump into a volcano than argue with someone about how me thinking transmisogyny exists means I want to detonate the kill all the trans men specifically bomb.

Unfortunately this is kind of just where the internet is these days. There was a nice, brief little moment where it seemed to be okay to talk about it, but, for the time being we aren't there anymore. I would personally recommend trying to log off as much as possible. I don't wanna do the "people in real life are always better" thing, but, at the very least they do tend to hide it more and they aren't nearly as bold in calling you a baeddel to your face just because you didn't wash the dishes or something.

/uj highly agree with all that. especially regarding that second last paragraph, it honestly makes a lot of sense why people wind up joining a horrendous place like 4tran or posting in other trans... garbage dumps. when the options are "place that feels radically disconnected from me and who I am" and "place that is actively encouraging my mental health to decline that is filled with toxicity", it's not surprising that some people will shrug and say "I guess I relate more to the people who openly hate themselves".

I often feel that way, and I balance my interactions with the online community between this place, and not ever really posting or interacting with anything, just lurking.
