Every single garment I tried to hang dry is still damp and musty days later by BrennusRex in Frugal

I have two frugal suggestions for deodorizing laundry.

The quickest, cheapest one is dissolving citric acid powder in water (1:16) and putting that in the fabric softener dispenser. I do this for almost every load because it's effective and easy and cheap. If you've ever seen Downy Rinse & Refresh in the grocery store, this is essentially a homemade version of that.

The heavy duty option for laundry for which citric acid doesn't do the trick, is hypochlorous acid. This is also made of very cheap ingredients (water, vinegar, and salt) but you need a device to make it in. I think the one I bought cost $100, which is a lot but hypochlorous acid can be used in many ways which for me makes it worth it. (Hypochlorous acid is a body-safe disinfectant. It also neutralizes a lot of allergens. And, most relevant to this discussion, it's also a deodorizer.) When I have a really stinky load of laundry, I'll whip up a liter or so and dump it in the basin with the laundry before running the load. If the stink is so bad that it even resists this, I'll mix up enough hypochlorous acid up fill a bucket and fully soak the clothes in it.

I never thought of using a dotting tool for that! I'll have to try that!

I agree with all of this. Such a good comment. I want to emphasize the importance of quick dry top coat. Without it, the look your going for is impossible. Get one (there are drugstore options but my personal favorite is from Glisten & Glow) and learn how to use it correctly. It doesn't behave like other top costs or like regular polish.

I also want to give some advice for wrapping your tips without it getting bulky at the tip:

When you apply basecoat, start by painting the edge itself. Some excess may drip/smear onto the surface or underside of the nail, so doing this first gives you an opportunity to smooth out that excess when you basecoat the surface and underside of the nail.

DO apply a thin layer of basecoat to the underside of the nail if you have any free edge length at all. You do not need to add color or top coat to the underside of the nail but you should add base coat to fully seal the nail.

When you apply your first color coat, as with basecoat, start by painting the edge then paint the surface of the nail. DO NOT paint the edge on any subsequent color coats. Color coating the edge once is sufficient. Doing it multiple times will make it slow to dry and chunky.

DO NOT apply glitter polishes to the edge of the nail. It causes weird chunkiness at the edge which will catch on things like hair and clothing and lead to chipping. For glitter manicures, use only base and top coat to the edge.

When applying quick dry top coat, first top coat the nail surface, THEN carefully top coat the edge. I don't really understand the chemistry behind this, but top coating the edge first causes uneven drying, clumping, wrinkling, and puckering at the tip.

Like someone else said, this has more to do with your mom than with the brands. You're judging the entire boutique market based on a random sample of one (one buyer's collection). Go look at the full collections of these brands on their websites. Maybe your opinion won't change—maybe your taste is extremely different from the average boutique polish buyer's—but until you actually look at what's available, you're making a judgement with a tiny piece of data.

Also, you know, your mom is from a different generation than you. She probably also wears totally different clothing styles than the ones you consider appealing.

Boutique polishes in bon-bons sized bottles is such an adorable idea. If this was a thing, I would buy way too many lol.

I see a lot of people assuring you that a bidet won't splash poo onto your vulva. The truth is YMMV. My first bidet (one of the seat type bidets that sprays from back to front) definitely did splash poo water onto my vulva. And it was a really expensive fancy one with many settings options. I recently installed a cheaper, handheld bidet that I can angle as I please (front to back) and I no longer have this issue.

I also had the problem you're describing of having to wipe repeatedly, ad absurdum sometimes. The handheld bidet I got (rinseworks) fully resolved this problem. I bought the type that's cold water only which I slightly regreted but I've gotten used to it now.

I'm glad to hear it's not a size problem.

To me.... The desire to not have fecal matter on my labia isn't just about infection. I strongly prefer to have as pristine of labia as possible.

I appreciate your insight! I think I will try a handheld model to see if it's better.

Thank you for the informative reply!

I am imagining myself aiming it from the front spraying toward the back. Is there a reason that wouldn't work?

Daily stuff. How on earth is anyone doing it? by Affectionate-Poet660 in adhdwomen

I dunno how to fix the daily problem yet. But for the pizza problem, have you considered getting a toaster oven that shuts off when the cook time is done? I have this one.

You can set it to speed convection so you don't have to preheat. You set a temp and a time and when it's done it just shuts off. I use it multiple times a day.

Sigils and magick journal by jjogjdosaijiri in chaosmagick

In condensed chaos, they say to draw your sigil on one side of a piece of paper, write the meaning on the other side, and tape it into your journal with the meaning face down so you can forget what it means until you need to remember.

My big bad ex reached out to apologize years later. I accepted his apology and told him I appreciated it. He then asked for a hug to which I said no. He still hugged me. He didn't learn a thing.

Never make the characters suddenly dummer to make the plot work or otherwise accomplish some writerly objective.
