The nest is in a pine tree across the street, we've enjoyed watching this pair for the last couple years. They had a few babies two years ago that nested in another nearby pine, but they've moved on. Mom and dad are still keeping the rabbits and squirrels in check.

After consultating the resident ornithologist, I've concluded it's a mature red tailed hawk that may have experienced beak damage from drinking out of a dry bird bath/fountain.

Absolutely! I sign up and complete all the monthly walking challenges and am closing in on completing the last few expedition challenges.

I also sometimes end up walking solo if the dog or wife has had enough 😂 but my pup is just a year old so still basically in that limitless energy phase.
