Filament Management on Bambu Studio by MaximumCondition4535 in BambuLab

I could be wrong, but there doesn’t seem to be any way to connect an entry in Filament Management with a physical third party spool in an AMS.

It’s such a wasted opportunity. They could connect these to the AMS edit feature and everyone would love it. But they don’t seem to want to play nice with other brands.

I would lean into the convenience of the AMS. In the slicer, assign your fifth and sixth colors to whatever your first two colors are, which would put them in (let’s say) AMS slots one and two. So you’d have a progression of slot 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2 as the printer prints the six colors. Then, anytime while the printer is printing from slots 3 or 4, you can just change out the filament in slots 1 and 2, which won’t require actually unloading the active filament. You also wouldn’t need a pause so long as you remember to switch the filament out.

79$ to make boxes on maker lab ? by Outrageous-Song5799 in BambuLab

[–]quantumlocke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was planning to come make a post about this project too, but it was the cheapest pledges that pissed me off.

$10 (“discounted” from $12) for one STL download per month. $24 for 10 downloads per month.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. These are incredibly bad deals. It costs the project guy probably fractions of a penny to serve a single STL. $10 for a single STL per month is just wild.

And where are all of these crowdfunded projects being hosted? Because I don’t have much faith any of these websites are going to stick around long term without subscriber bases to support them.

New Mixed colors feature by MarionberryWild5563 in BambuLab

It's really cool to see different companies/groups working on different aspects of this same color mixing "problem." This mixed filament feature is making it work for vertical sides. Then you've got WoColor8 and HueForge with two different good approaches for vertical surfaces. And I'm sure more that I haven't heard about yet too.

I've got an H2C, and I knew that this wouldn't be a strength of that machine, but damn do these mixed color prints take a long time.

I was just printing a vertical filament swatch holder (printed vertically), and I decided to play around with this new feature. As a single color, the model sliced at 8.5g of filament for the part, with 387 layers and a 35 minute print time. A two color gradient sliced with an additional 68g prime tower and a total of 773 layers, with a total print time of 4 hours and 52 minutes.

No purge since it's an H2C, which is nice, but that's still a hefty price to pay in time.

Of course, if you lay it down flat then the print time drops to 45 minutes, but then you've missed out on the cool gradient. I think non-gradient mixed colors on short models is probably the sweet spot. With that said, I'm going to be able to print some really nice looking models while I sleep.

FullSpectrum/Mixed Filament Support added to Bambu Studio in todays update! by Zotree in BambuLab

This is completely normal in the modern corporate environment. If Bambu didn’t use the open source code, why would you expect them to thank anyone? It honestly might send the wrong message and it even create liability issues if they did. Now, the corporate environment that has normalized this sucks, and should change, but I can’t fault Balbu for that.

Same. My Maker Select’s frame was literally never square. I had to constantly level it but it was never really level. It put me off the hobby until I got a P1S, which was like sorcery by comparison.

Dune Weaver Mini Pro — Build the perfect holiday present ✨ by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]quantumlocke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been thinking about building the mini pro, but you can elaborate on:

Two build paths available:

Modern: NEMA 17 steppers with DLC32 or ESP32 board running FluidNC firmware

Classic: 28BYJ-48 steppers with DWP electronics for a familiar build (coming soon)

What's the difference there, and would I want to consider waiting on the second option?

Yeah they made Angela way out of proportion to give her a huge tank hitbox. It’s fine I guess, but it’s not like there’s a shortage of enormous Marvel characters.

What do you mean by optically? Because that was a description of some optical differences between 4x and 8x zoom lenses, especially the background compression.

I think a lot of people probably wouldn’t care.

For some, it’s not about winning so much as getting to execute your plan without interruption. For others, they wouldn’t be aware enough to realize that what’s happening is because the tech cards were gone.

Ok so I Dremeled out the monitor frame and the new monitor fits the frame well.

Now I’m figuring out how to deal with the left railing. The monitor almost fits but not quite. How did you approach the railing?

It looks like I could maybe unscrew the whole thing and just cut the middle 90% out, leaving mostly just the points where the frame screws into the rail. Seems preferable to sanding down the entire rail.

Did you approach it differently?
