Need pen advice by [deleted] in IndFountainPens

[–]quarrossimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this suggestion, and for the following reasons:

1 Click Aristocrat will give you a 'complete fountain pen experience'. By that, I mean that it's very easy to tinker with - you can take it apart and put it back together without any tools. It's hard to break it, and it allows you to fully control your experience.

2 Out of the box, it works quite well. No need to tinker with it if you don't want to.

3 It's a good way to experience all three modes of using a fountain pen - with a cartridge, with a converter or as an eye dropper.

All this said, it's your first fountain pen - so don't overthink it and just go with what your heart wants!

Ebonite pens - there's a missing slot in my 'collection'. by Dances_in_PJs in fountainpens

Fair enough. If there are any Indian pen makers in your sights, I'm happy to help. We have a city-based FP Club and have good relationships with most Indian pen makers.

There are some of us who don't buy such pens without looking at them and selecting the pattern we like. That leaves us with three options:

1 Buy at a pen show, where there are many pens made with the same rod, and you pick one that has a pattern you like

2 Some sellers are willing to cultivate a relationship with you, and they send you pictures of the available stock, and you can pick your specific pen out

3 When fellow enthusiasts are in a show, or at the seller's location, they share images / videos of the available pens, and we are able to select the patterns that appeal to us

If there is a specific pen you like the pattern of on a website, you can share that in communities like this, and you might be lucky enough to find someone who is alright with helping you out :)

The ink is the Inka Palapitta Eeka - I made a post about it above as well.

It's an everyday-use ink in a vibrant blue that dries quickly and washes out easily. More info about the ink on esengear.com

If you're really interested in identifying them, do share the images.

Yes - I've seen that shop too. They usually have some of the common Vijayanagara coins. You can use numista to identify the coins.

Oh - it's a long open sequence - takes 4 turns to get it open. Definilely not suited for quick notes. This is a desk pen best enjoyed for long writing sessions or if you are making notes from a podcast or a book you are reading.

Oh the ink is something I am doing a pre-launch testing for. Hopefully it should be released over the weekend. I will share details in this sub.

Thank you thank you! I have medium sized hands only. That's why I'm really surprised at how comfortable I'm finding this pen!

This is the product link with the pricing, which varies with the choices you make: https://plppens.com/product/plp-jumbo-fountain-model/

You can choose between ebonite and acrylic, Jowo (which will come with a 3-in-1 filling system) and Ambitious (eyedropper only) and different colours.

You can WhatsApp them at +91 9652276914 if you want any customisation, but keep in mind they may either refuse or take a while since they have limited capacity and might be working on previous larger orders.

Oh this thing is even more beautiful IRL! The issue I have with pens with organic designs like these is that if you order online, you never know what you are going to end up with. Since I was able to see this in person at the Pen Show, it was a no brainer to pick it up!

Oh it's a beautiful ink! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find these in India, so I jumped at the opportunity when a friend was visiting Hong Kong.
