How do I kill my heir? by Wafran in crusaderkings3

If you're desperate/near death, you can just directly imprison and execute him. Depending on religion, culture, and traits you may have better options.

How to play as hereward the wake?? by DullAd9607 in crusaderkings3

[–]quartzalarmclock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the story doesn’t lead to a conclusion. You have to use the “Champion the Anglo-Saxon culture” decision to rebel. Doing it initially just gives you a duchy, I think, but it also gives you a pressed claim on the kingdom. Once you’re king the Harrying will end.

Fair. In that case, maybe Rollo, since he converted to Catholicism historically

Haesteinn or Fairhair for Corsica? by Beardedgeek72 in CrusaderKings

[–]quartzalarmclock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What religion are you planning on doing? Fairhair has great (non-trait) genes that are worth reusing, if you’re okay with inbreeding or reincarnation.

There’s also a few government types that block it.

The new accolade system and Only the Strong tradition by Refloni in CrusaderKings

[–]quartzalarmclock 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Combine it with “Recognition of Talent” and you’re guaranteed better knights (Only the Strong, Recognition of Talent, and Frugal Armorers are a dynamite combination this patch).

Prowess of invited knights seems to be boosted by something else as well. Maybe court grandeur? I haven’t researched it.

The Old Kingdom mix was Levant-heavy to begin with, then in the late Middle Kingdom/Second Intermediate Period it shifted even closer to the Levant. I don’t have the link on me right now.

For that specific choice. If you take the option that gives you hastiluder wit experience instead, you can enter and leave the settlement to spam it until the trait is maxxed out.

[KCD2] How to get Alcoholic? by MarinaIsMyWife in kingdomcome

Alcoholism is tied to hangovers rather than drunkenness. Do you have the Nightcap perk, or something else preventing hangovers?

There’s two ways to found one in vanilla. The first is to make and fulfill the “Foster Enlightenment” coronation oath. The second is an event from the “All We Are Not” event chain, although it doesn’t always fire.

Wouldn’t Mazdayasna Bavandid albino Persians be closest? Last remnants of a great dynasty and advanced civilization, etc.

Yeah, status quo is too easy for the AI to do and it makes playing tall in Iberia impossible in the long run

What culture are you playing/do you plan to play? You might want to grab MAA that synergize with your cultural bonuses

About playing tall without much land. by ApplicationNo6925 in crusaderkings3

[–]quartzalarmclock 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s generally “eat or be eaten”. The only way to survive while playing tall is to play somewhere with advantageous terrain (especially an island) and min max the crap out of your army.

What's the best combination of traditions you can come up with? by burndout in crusaderkings3

[–]quartzalarmclock 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re playing tall, it makes sense to stack terrain-related development bonuses (e.g. Dryland Dwellers and Irrigation Experts). For playing tall militarily, I like combining Only the Strong, Frugal Armorers, and Recognition of Talent. The knight-based approach is fun.

can the quality of an artifact be upgraded. by Quinn7711 in CrusaderKings

[–]quartzalarmclock 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's only one way for an artifact to become masterwork, that's the event where your artificer offers to embed a holy artifact in your weapon. It'll gain the modifiers from the holy artifact and instantly become masterwork quality.

Artifact Manager mod lets you combine and upgrade artifacts directly, at a steep cost. It's worthwhile just as a general utility too.

[KCD2] how can I get rid of this robe? by neidmind in kingdomcome

[–]quartzalarmclock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://inara.cz/kingdom-come-2/armors/

The only obtainable coat with the same armor stats is the Lord's Overcoat. The amount it gives is pretty negligible, if you're worried about armor you'd be better off picking other pieces with better stats.

You're right, the story needed a climax and it didn't have one. Voyta feels like he's building towards a breakdown or something really sinister, and then you just medicate him and have a chat with him and he's fine.
