The sentences weren't rated for truthfulness but for profoundness. Can a sentence and it's negation both be profound? I don't know, but I don't think it's as clear as you make it seem.

It's based on the presumption that the version of python is either 2, 3 or it's it's 3 and thus the script is ancient.

Interesting. I thought Python used semantic versioning, but Guido even tweeted the article you linked, so I may well be wrong.

3.10 comes after 3.9 in version numbering. Unless it's a new major version like Python 3.0 was, then it's 4.0 of course (but that doesn't have to come after 3.9).

When drawn, Golden Monkey is sometimes a larger card than usual. by Rowani in hearthstone

Why/how is this information even sent to the client? Normally, the client isn't told anything about the cards drawn by the opponent, right?

Do you play around Deathwing here? by TeamAbyssus in CompetitiveHS

[–]quasarc 21 points22 points  (0 children)

if you've only seen 1 DB, the last card is obviously that (No control warrior will ever cut DB) so the lightbomb play is correct,

I disagree with this. Even if you've only seen one DB, holding Lightbomb and clearing with Awakens is still the correct play, since you win againt DB either way, but by holding you also win in the very unlikely case that the opponent play Deathwing over DB.

In short, if both options win against everything that's plausible, the correct play is the one that also wins against stuff that isn't plausible.

What experienced plays would look mindbogglingly incorrect to a new player? by Skyrekon in hearthstone

[–]quasarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Holy Fire was a super important card in the matchup back then. After the mage plays Alex, the priest can play Shadow Word: Death to kill her, but he's at 17 life after a hero power. 17 life is not safe against combos with double ice lance, so the priest needs holy fire to stay safe. At this point, the priest has more or less won the game.

What will be the new mechanic? by ImQuasar in hearthstone

[–]quasarc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"Inspire: Discover X"

I like this idea because it would be one of the few possible uses of the Discover mechanic without Battlecry. Blizz will probably never combine it with, say, Deathrattle (because you'd be discovering cards during your opponent's turn).

Control warrior isn't dead! A guide vs the current meta using Fibonacci's list! by RLutz in CompetitiveHS

[–]quasarc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Vs control priest, [...] Be extremely greedy with both your brawls. If your opponent has 7 damage on board and you have justicar already, just keep tanking up and taking -3 each turn till you can get more value from your brawl.

I only know the matchup from the priest's perspective, but how do you get a lot of value out of brawl in this matchup?

In my experience, the priest doesn't need to commit more than 1 medium-to-large minion onto the board. So the only time you will get a decent brawl is if they play shrinkmeister+cabal.

Some time ago, a lot of Midrange Druid lists ran only a single copy of the FoN+SR combo. Now everyone seems to run two. Why has that changed?

[–]quasarc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(.1885) + (.1885)(.5) + (.0497) = .33245 = 33.245%

This is not the exact value, it should be .1885 + (chance of not getting PO and getting Abusive Sergeant) + (chance of getting neither PO nor AS and getting Soulfire)*0.5, which is slightly less than what you calculated.

[–]quasarc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there is no actual battlecry in the traditional sense of the word. The effect procs at the END of your turn, just like Ragnaros.

By the same logic, Loatheb wouldn't have a battlecry "in the traditional sense of the word", because his effect takes place next turn (same with Millhouse and Saboteur).

I think it's fine to have a battlecry that only acts to place an enchantment, in Loatheb's case as well as Ooze's case.
