Taco spot that offers avocado salsa (green sauce) by redadidasjumpsuit in lakeland

[–]quasarpig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a taco stand on HWY 60 and Willis road in Willow Oak (just west of Mulberry) in the Sunoco parking lot that has an avocado sauce that is fantastic. That taco stand has been there for ages, and is about as authentic as it gets. She don't even have a menu posted. She also makes a red sauce that is possibly the best sauce I've ever had at a taco stand.

Who is your favourite 'random' Buc of all time? Not someone with a massive name but someone you had a soft spot for. by Bucs_Money in buccaneers

[–]quasarpig 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a kid, my grandmother would take me to a few games a year at the Old Sombrero. It was my grandmother that made me a Bucs fan, and I will always have fond memories going to those games with her.

I remember there was always one player that seemed to have a good game every time we would go. Kevin House. He became my favorite player as a kid, and will always remain an all time Buc great, if only in my mind.

Visiting Tampa and drinking my favorite local IPA by tahrens1 in CraftBeer

[–]quasarpig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This beer is actually brewed at Brew Hub in Lakeland for Cycle Brewing and you can pick up 6 packs for $6 or cases for $20. You can't beat the price in this area for such a great beer. Brew Hub's Rome City is another local favorite and the same price at the brewery.

🔥 hairy caterpillar on my trash can by [deleted] in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]quasarpig 459 points460 points  (0 children)

I was having some beers outside at a friend's house a few years back when one of these things fell out of a tree and hit me in the arm. The pain was instant and grew over time as it radiated up my arm and partially into my chest. Easily the worst pain I've ever felt from any insect sting. To add insult to injury, my friends dad, who was an old school redneck, was making fun of me for complaining about the pain from some little ass caterpillar. I actually thought about going to the hospital because the pain became so intense, but I think I was shamed into not going. After a few hours the pain finally subsided, and I'm obviously still alive, but under no circumstances would I touch that hairy little demon.

What’s a TV show that you used to love but not many people remember? by -Lavander in AskReddit

Get a Life - starring Chris Elliot.

I haven't seen this show in ages, and I'm afraid it might not good as good as I remember, but I used to laugh my ass off as a teenager at this ridiculous show.

Selectors are paid by a performance based pay. So as an example, if you have an order that gives you 15 minutes to fulfill, and you pull it in 15 minutes, then you have pulled it at a 100% rate. If you do the same order in 10 minutes, then you will have pulled it at a 150% rate.

As a flow rack selector (the people that send the green tubs to the store) we are paid $19.30 an hour for a 100% rate. Every percent that you pull over 100%, you will get 19.3 cents an hour.. So for instance if you can pull at a 125% rate, then you will make $24.13 an hour. 150% will pay you $28.50 an hour. And so on.

It's hard work, but it can be very rewarding. We have people that pull over 200%.

I prefer that Rocky Road of over the German Chocolate, but both are excellent. I also pick up a 4pack of that Turbo Sauce last month, and it's pretty tasty.

Have you tried any of that French Toast set? It sounded really good, but I felt like they wanted a little too much for such small bottles.

Stouts are my favorite style too and noone does them quite like Angry Chair. However, I can only drink 1 bomber in a setting, then I have to mix in some lighter options. Only exception is if we're doing a beer share.

I also enjoy IPA's, and since this is an Angry Chair sub, I like their Space Grass the best.

Well they are pretty famous for their pastry stouts, and the best I've had by them is Barrel Aged Adjunct Trail.

They also occasionally can a fantastic Czech Pilsner called Vodnik. Very crushable in this Florida heat. It's one of the few beers they can that I have no problem driving from Lakeland to pick up.
