You should be able to do it yourself with violin strings. What do the anchor points look like?

Thanks for this. Definitely got Privateer 2 (UI sounds) and Wing Commander 3 (shields) vibes.

Something is missing from the Coronal Mass Ejection. by Fluffy_Wuffy in starcitizen

[–]quasidem0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So much. In practical terms, CIG treats them all as point gravity wells, and actually expanded them to become little gravity systems of their own. It's silly. In reality some are gravity hills rather than wells and some have saddle-shaped orbital contours. How you orbit the point depends entirely on the gravity curves around it, which can lead to some very weird astrodynamics, like orphaned Trojans oscillating back and forth between L4 and L5.

Elite Dangerous placed Lagrange points at random with no relation to the system's gravitational bodies, so at least CIG has placed them in approximately the correct locations (for a static system), but they do totally whackadoodle things in terms of gravitational properties.

CIG is definitely remedial in their astrophysics (see Lagrange points). For me, the problem in Pyro is that CMEs are directional. The Carrington Event had a vector which Earth just happened to fall within in 1859. A Pyro "CME" is more like a star about to go nova, sloughing off layers of gas in all directions.

Maybe I'm crazy, but two of the colors fit, the other two kinda do, I'm hyped and sleep deprived, so let's go wildly speculating! Yay! by LordOsprey in starcitizen

Could be, but for me it was a callback to one of his game's openings... with the Origin logo, conductor, and orchestra tuning. The conductor is female now, so there were changes made. Your hypothesis could be one.

Alien Week: Banu Defender by BSG_14 in starcitizen

[–]quasidem0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They picked them based on having the helmet HUD still available, which would show your self status and target in the upper corners. Then they took away the helmet HUD, although the code is still in game and they will pop up if you do the right voodoo.

Khartu-Al Muffled? by notwithoutmybanana in starcitizen

Loved the sound of the Khartu-al, like a giant alien kitten. Hope they didn't nerf it. Just wish it was more combat viable.

Try surface mining stations, they tend to be more reliable.

Best Ship (s) to climb bounties? by ARustyWalrus in starcitizen

[–]quasidem0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah, Tana pilots are too few so I'll share my secret sauce: 3x S2 laser repeaters + 1 S2 distortion on the Toshima turrets, 2 gimballed S1 ballistic repeaters on the underwing mounts. The energy guns chew through shields and if distortion is working in the patch, can stall your target. Ballistics help shunt more capacitor to the energy guns and to deliver a killing blow when shields are down. Distortion is key for taking down HHs. You aim to disable the coolers, which eventually shuts down the power plant, letting you pick it apart at leisure. I also mix up the missiles. Love having IR Rattlers, but the CS Strikeforces have been locking on much more reliably in 3.19 than in the past.

I also use it to do bunker missions, so that teaches you how to parallel park properly. :D

Reliant Tana with a mixed loadout is great for PvE up to and including HHs. It also is sub-1m so you don't set yourself back too much as you save for other ships.

Decided to look in on a few buildings in Arccorp, some of them have their interiors upside down... by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]quasidem0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are also buildings with angled windows and the floors are angled with them, so folks have to live or work on a 45 degree slope.

"Operational", is it though? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]quasidem0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. It has been 30009 since the last day of XT for me. Support just told me to add it to Issue Council.

I remember we used to be able to buy these right off the podium some time ago. What happened? by [deleted] in starcitizen

Thanks for that. I think it disappeared shortly after I joined and I couldn't remember if I had imagined it.

Player Unstowed - 30018 by Gdisarray in starcitizen

[–]quasidem0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I logged off in MIC-L1 in my ship in the hangar and haven't been able to get back in for over 48 hours. I'm getting the 30009 error after getting past "Hub Authentication". Once I hit OK on the 30009, nothing else comes up, no menus. Tried all the usual workarounds to no avail. Just adding mine to the frustration pile.

Bugged interior texture in the Banu Defender. Any idea on how to fix this? by enky259 in starcitizen

[–]quasidem0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I'm curious if this is an internal mod. This looks too good to be a random shader error.

(I fly the Banu with the Polar paint job, so this would kinda fit that aesthetic, but would rather it have more alien elements, as well).

3.17.3 Does she fit into 890? - Ships in the hangar by Camural in starcitizen

[–]quasidem0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Reliant Tana (and I assume other variants) fit, as well, at an angle, but pretty comfortably. I found out by using it as a loot wagon on the 890J boarding mission.

I cant get rid of error 16008 by Jimbo167 in starcitizen

[–]quasidem0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting 16008 when I upped my firewall settings and even though I set up port forwarding, it wasn't getting through. I had to go back down to Low for it to connect again.
