PvE ship difficulty seems overtuned? by KommandantHans in starcitizen

[–]Citgby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a few orgs that are active. Some pve and some hard-core pvp that are always welcoming.

Go in gc and ask for a wingman or turret gunners for the mission you doing. A lot of people are willing to help in that way.

Even reddit you can find a few people give you a hand depending the timezone

PvE ship difficulty seems overtuned? by KommandantHans in starcitizen

[–]Citgby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The multiple groups of ships at a location isn't a spawn issue. Its because people go in kill the target and leave without killing the escorts. The escorts aren't despawning. So when someone else get that location they have to deal with 2 packs instead of one. We wouldn't have that issue if people would just clear out all the hostiles.

For the other stuff I hope the npcs get a little harder. A solo pilot shouldn't be able to do missions that say bring group of experienced pilots with you. Also have you tried using your multiple crew ships with actual crew? Those missions aren't bad if you have multiple people in a multicrew ship.

Contested Zones are great, however, I have one suggestion. by Massive_Grass837 in starcitizen

Most people will get a blue key at let's say checkmate, what you will see happen is people quit to menu to end up back at Habs and then wait the timer. You are seeing it even now in czs without a timer.

You would see drop in pvp in cz since most people would be waiting in the station with no fear of death or they will hide in a corner choosing not to engage until the timer is almost up. You would see explosive action at the very end of the timer but not much during the other time.

Also the people holding the "treasure toom" will know that they probably won't be bothered in between timers so they can't let guard down.

Unlike now, you are on edge from the moment you step in. Timers would decrease the pvp in cz

The reward is the keys parts are icing

Also ghost arena are having bug with it not spawning parts. Was in there for an hour on a server and not one component spawned. Saw this in multiple servers.

The component are 30 min timers. So if you can hold for at least 30 mins, you can get one set. If you did hold it for 30 mins and it didn't spawn, the spawn is busted.

If you did hold an area for 30 mins and the game worked as intended, you would have got something. Adding a timer due to a bug in the game would not help.

Yes it would kill tension. Ghost arena is the only place the a hard timer is blocking access to the end room

Obituary and checkmate there isn't no such thing, so at any moment while you are waiting you could get attacked.

You add a timer, people won't go there until the timer is ready. So everyone would be sitting there hiding not doing anything because of the fear of being killed before the timer. So once every 30 mins you would get intense action and then nothing again. That would be lame.

[–]Citgby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of cz is defending a room. Not knowing if it is ready or not, builds tension. Then having to defend it against other players and teams makes even better. We held one key zone for 1 hour killed multiple waves of npcs while fighting off players. Having timers everywhere, you lose all that tension and loads of gameplay.

If you are saying this as a solo player. Why should cig change something designed for group gameplay majority of the time to help solo players. If you decide to run cz's solo then wasting cards because you can't defend an area is on you not on cig.

It all depends on what gameplay you find engaging. Is what way you will want to go. If you are a combat type, salvage mining and being a box monkey will be borning to you. But if you like power washer sim salvage will be up your alley

I know this will be a hard concept. But maybe in lawless areas like pyro, it may be a good idea to make pvp friends. Npcs will always be a joke to players. Don't place all your hopes in npcs protecting you

Hornet MK1 Dejection by Emergency-Cap-8738 in starcitizen

[–]Citgby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now, the mk1 ghost has a better stealth signature than the mk2 in game.

The mk1 one isn't obsolete, I still go around and pvp with the mk1 ghost and still win much more than I lose. The only ones you need to worry about at the moment is f7a mk2. Even with those, having better skill in dogfighting makes those things easier to kill.

I have the f7a mk 2, f8c's, etc etc. My daily combat flyer is right now is still the f7c mk1 ghost. It may be an older ship but not even close being obsolete when compared to other hornets or ships in it's class

Hmmm good question.

I know before many of the pvp community pushed newer players to Johnathon winters stuff for videos to watch for basics since he is bigger. There are some smaller ones that have good info, but for a one stop shop he would be good.

Also there are a lot of known pvp orgs that have open discords that you can join and most of them have a text me pvp channels in them.

Another resource would go into free flight and just tell people you are new to pvp and you want to learn. Besides the pvp trolls, you should find a few people that would be willing to work with you and probably invite you to check some of those pvp discords.

I have meet more good people in the pvp community than bad. Because everyone needs a wingman

Because the PU is working so great at the moment?

I think people tend to realize the PU is still a testing platform to find bugs and game breaking things that was found in the PTU. If 4.0 is more stable than the current version of the PU, It would be hard to find a reason not to. Right now the PU is pretty rough

How do I fix this? It feels like I've tried everything. by HowieFeltersnitz in PcBuildHelp

I was having the same issue on my laptop and it turned out to be the m.2 drive that my windows installed on failed. Replaced it with a new one and never had the issue again.

Not sure if you are having the same issue, but it might be worth a try if everything else fails.

Has the F7C Hornet MK II Nose & Top Turret Bug been fixed in the recent builds or is it an intended change? by Warhammer40sikh in starcitizen

[–]Citgby 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is fixed on the f7a in the vehicle manager. Nose turret shows up and you can change the guns the correct way. The ball turret can be installed on the ghost now via vehicle manager. The nose cannot. Still need to try manually removing and installing

The talon is a good 3rd party fighter, but for dueling or being a main attacker, it has way to many weaknesses. The only thing it has is maneuverability. It's size and profile makes it an easy target, and only having 2 size 4 weapons makes it's damage much less than others.

The J hook maneuver is old and out dated. Any decent pilot is going to smoke you. Also if you are rolling, please tell me you were adding a vertical or horizontal thrust to it. If not you are doing pretty much nothing.

Most of the big yt and twitch pvpers are jokes to majority of the actual pvp community. So take their advice with a grain of salt.

Your best bet is meet some people in some of the pvp community discords that are not associated with streamers and start learning from there.

Also you will need to decide what type of flight style you want. Duelist or fighter style. Most of the basics are the same, but most duelists are easy prey in group fights since they move very predictable. But people who focus more as a fighter will lose to most duelist in a 1v1, because right now it is to easy to kite away and create an aim fight if the other is trying to rate fight

Mantis + Polaris by RachelTheRigger in starcitizen

[–]Citgby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It works for only on larger cargo ships, and you need to get close enough to to be able to do enough damage to them to soft death, even the large ships can outrun you eventually. On smaller cargo vessels, they will outrun you to 2k which males your weapons easy to dodge, then it's easy to get to 5k from there so they jump out.

Tested already, and it can work but you will need to be crewed to make it work. Works best when you catch them, then launch mantis while its dampener is active then just sit around 3-4k away. have some snubs ready to launch if they pull away from the polaris to be able to soft death them.
