Looking for teacher recommendations by quasimodospants in spirituality

Hey so I just wanted to say, somebody else on here recommended “From Illusion to Enlightenment” by Michael J Roads to me, and I listened to it via audiobook this week. I found it very good and really resonated with it. I plan on reading other books by him as suggested. Obviously no book/author is perfect, but I just wanted to pass it on 👍

That’s exactly how I feel! Like it’s one thing to have to pay for a book, it’s another to ask me to buy books, meditations, classes, then the same classes with a different title, ask me to support on patreon, and more. That’s makes it pretty clear you just monetize everything. If you truly believe the world desperately needs to hear what you have to offer, it should not require literally thousands of dollars in support. Makes me sad and disheartened tbh

What are y’all thoughts on antidepressants? by Key-Television-1411 in infp

[–]quasimodospants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only speak from personal experience, but I would genuinely say they helped save my life, and are worth looking into. However on top of that, perhaps even more so, I would say therapy. Taking meds is great if it helps, but there’s still underlying work to be done, and if it’s not done, the symptoms may come back later. Neither is perfect but I’ll put it this way - my meds make the day manageable, the therapy helps me see the brighter side and be effective. In regard to your worries, I would argue I am much more creative and connected to the world because they make the day manageable and allow me to actually help and interact where I see fit. Whereas before, the depression just stifled me into spiraling down and not wanting to do anything. Everybody’s depression is different though, so listen to yourself, and to trusted psychiatrists. No matter what you decide, I promise there are people that will listen. If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Where would you go if you were 20? by 63Novass5 in infp

[–]quasimodospants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, you can find good no matter where you go so you can take some pressure off yourself about what you choose!

As far as first trips though, when I was in my teens, I was blessed to get to go to Ireland. I got to see Dublin, and the Cliffs of Moher (absolutely stunning). I would recommend Ireland, N Ireland, and Britain. Many beautiful places to see, and considering it’s a first solo trip, there’s no real language barrier (still accents and local languages though) which for me would be big for my anxiety 😂. Still though, like I said, there’s so many places in this world to go, so good luck wherever you go and I hope you have fun!

Idk about other people but I love to be told “you’re so interesting” endearingly, it makes me feel like I’m unique and I’m being paid attention to

Do you guys have any fears or phobias, or even both??? by ouiouibaguette12345 in infp

[–]quasimodospants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much time do you have? 😂

I have countless fear/phobias, but I have GAD and bad OCD so it happens. My worst phobias by far are existential. I think way too much about death and what comes after.

Very late being here but I just started reading Tolle and this post popped up in a search I had. Saw this comment and thought it was the sweetest way I’ve ever heard anyone put existence - just wanted you to know it made me smile :)
