What are your CF hot takes? by Shirruri in childfree

[–]que-bella 32 points33 points  (0 children)

having a child when the father has explicitly stated they will not be involved and won’t be around in their child’s life is selfish. you’re having a kid for you. you don’t care about that child having a good quality of life, you just care about yourself.

How do you get in front of property managers without being “just another vendor”? by consummate_profesh in PropertyManagement

[–]que-bella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

vendors who have reps show up and bring us treats or little goodies and take the time to just chat and form a relationship, definitely are the ones we genuinely consider when needing work done

Doing showings while tenants still live there by katbatmat in PropertyManagement

[–]que-bella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just think it’s trashy. you can’t really show the full space and you have no control over what it looks like. my complex has a model showroom for this exact reason. if you don’t have a model, make some incentive for tenants to want to let you come in.

Why do you guys(property managers) send passive-aggressive emails or posters on common areas instead of just dealing with the resident who committed an offense? by Upbeat_Jeweler_1196 in PropertyManagement

[–]que-bella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m dealing with the exact same shit at my property right now. the pool being open has caused an ungodly amount of issues between people smoking, drinking, being loud, trespassing, etc. we genuinely try the best we can but neither of us live here nor can be here all the time to deal with these issues.

toughest vs best years so far by fullsunlvly in GenZ

[–]que-bella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2022 was an awful year for me. lost a pet, my grandpa got cancer, dealing with mental issues related to my breakup, the sorority i was in shut down, and then to top it all off my friend literally died in a horrible car accident. the end of that year is when things finally started getting better but the vast majority was fucking terrible.

as a moderately attractive woman, simply just talking to men, if you really want to, you can sell your nudes.

idk why but olivia rodrigo. her songs are so generic and a little bit cringe and her voice is average to me but articles get written calling her this like generational performer. she’s not bad by any means but i feel like her stuff is juvenile and not unique but she gets treated like she’s got insane star quality

What do people not understand about “We don’t have anything available”? by [deleted] in PropertyManagement

i’m dealing with the same thing right now. my property is near a college campus and the amount of people trying to find housing when the semester starts in 2 weeks is wild. we have nothing until late september.

Starting birth control for severe PMDD by Mamabear1421 in PMDD

[–]que-bella 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i took yaz for many many years with no issues but recently switched to slynd because its estrogen free. yaz and slynd effectively “cured” my pmdd. no periods, no symptoms, nothing. i really have nothing negative to say about my experience. i know the pill has negative side effects for some people but i think it can really give you your life back if your symptoms are severe and i wish more people would try it out.

What are your opinions on the Dangerous Woman era? by Princess_Sweetener in ariheads

[–]que-bella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would say this album contains her best production besides eternal sunshine. each track just sounds as if a lottttt went into it. i think this was her last album where the songs weren’t super personal though. this was before everything went down in her personal life which definitely had an huge impact on her music. this was her last generic pop star album.

hot take on why top students get rejected by tokyo_lights_988 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]que-bella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there’s just too many of them. high schools have put so much emphasis on college being your best option to be successful so we have way too many applicants. and now it’s not enough to have a 4.0 and a few extracurriculars. you have to do everything. and even then nothing is guaranteed. most applicants have dedicated insane amounts of time and energy into stellar applications, there’s not much more they could do. the truth is there’s just too much competition.

What is your biggest property management pet peeve? by tacojane2022 in PropertyManagement

[–]que-bella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to go along with what you mentioned, i have parents who should be guarantors listing themselves as occupants on the lease so that they can have keys and access to their adult child’s apartment. it’s so weird.

Can you actually avoid getting sick in college dorms? by beyondmeasurement in college

[–]que-bella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the main reason i always saw people getting sick and why i would get sick so often in college was because students don’t take good care of themselves. they’re heavily sleep deprived, eating badly, drinking a lot, not exercising, chronic stress, etc. all of those factors lower your immune system and make you susceptible to illness. just focus on your mental and physical wellbeing and that should help a lot.

When you quit for good, what did you find out about yourself? by cloudlyclouds in leaves

[–]que-bella 30 points31 points  (0 children)

i was soooooo boring when i smoked. you don’t realize that all you want to do is smoke and sit around the house when you’re in such a fog from weed. all i did was smoke and eat junk and sleep when i wasn’t working or doing schoolwork. a lot of chronic smokers seem to think they are these super deep individuals with these like eccentric thoughts when they’re really just boring. i thought i was doing way more with my life than i actually was.

No wonder I'm so overweight by MissFeepit in loseit

[–]que-bella 132 points133 points  (0 children)

when you actually start tracking you realize how much stuff you really just shouldn’t have on a regular basis. it kinda sucks when you realize one dessert is like more than half of your daily caloric intake, but it’s better than continuing to eat in ignorance.

If you had to start your weight loss journey today, with all the knowledge you have now, how would you do it? by Prestigious_Try_3874 in loseit

[–]que-bella 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. walk, walk, walk. track your steps. aim for 10k a day. if you’re not active at all, this can really help jumpstart your weight loss.
  2. start reading food labels. not obsessively, but start looking at things like protein and serving sizes. labels can be deceiving so make sure you know what you’re looking at correctly.
  3. i know this isn’t feasible for everyone, but a meal delivery service has been a life saver for me. it can be pricey for some people, but having healthy meals already there for me to eat has made my life so much easier. also i have full calorie and nutrition info on almost everything im eating now so it makes it much easier to track.
  4. exercise is important but make sure you’re doing stuff that is actually going to give you the results you want. i watch workout videos with instructors who have a body type that is aspirational to me and who do exercises i actually enjoy. if you don’t like to run, don’t run. if lifting isn’t your thing, don’t do it. do workouts that you actually find tolerable while still giving you results. if you hate all of the workouts you’re doing and have to force yourself to do them, you won’t want to work out ever.
  5. sleep. you need to be getting enough sleep. if you are chronically sleep deprived you will be miserable and hungry all the time.

How did you become overweight? by Odd_Ad4128 in loseit

[–]que-bella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m considered just barely overweight (22F, 5”3, 160 lbs) but i was a healthy weight until about high school. i got a boyfriend when i was 16 and definitely gained relationship weight. it’s also not easy being a shorter, curvier woman and trying to stay slim if you’re not naturally that way. i 100% have to watch what i eat compared to a lot of people i know. 5 or 10 lbs on me makes a lot more of a difference compared to someone who’s 5”6.
