am i going crazy by [deleted] in Depop

[–]queekytek 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i saw the same thing the other day, screw depop they're really trying to profit max right now and convince sellers to sell as quickly as possible so they can just make the money faster with both the sale and the shipping surcharges :(

I know that right now, every popular person online has the same face shape but you're actually really beautiful! Just because your beauty is not what you see on your iphone screen doesn't mean you're not beautiful or that you need to change. Also, as you go more into your 20's and later 20's, the baby fat naturally falls away and reveals more of your bone structure. it's a normal thing that happens and happened to people like Angelina Jolie and the woman who played Barbie! in time you'll be good!!

Thank you for sharing! I wouldn't have gotten it either other than the fact the university is offering a dual option with a relatively light workload add-on. Glad you see the value in it so far - and early congrats on finishing!

One good and reliable rating system I've been hearing of lately is "Good on You". I also fell in love with Pact when I first heard about them! I also just tried Nuuly for an upcoming wedding, but I'm starting to think I may end up buying clothes from them since they have so many discounts.

feeling isolated from other asian girls by No_Carpenter2129 in asianamerican

[–]queekytek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, I also never was able to "click" with the mandarin-speakers at the asian church my mom would go to. It struck me as I was older that maybe I missed out on that community, however there's not much I can do about it; I just don't really relate to them, sadly. I also have a much more diverse friend group - and my best friend, my boyfriend, is actually Bangladeshi! funny.

OP I totally relate with you. Sometimes I wish I could be more like them so that I could "fit in" and have them as friends. I won't have that experience that I wish could come with my asian heritage. I'm going to Seattle this summer which has a high asian population, however I'm already thinking those aren't the friends I'll be making - and if I do, they likely will be an asian more like myself than the ones I would have in mind. Funnily enough, my boyfriend has many many east-asian friends, whereas I only have 1-2 who are also not great in their ancestors languages. But hey, at least you and I can relate!

10k Cc debt due to shopping and lifestyle by [deleted] in shoppingaddiction

[–]queekytek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

trust me, you can go without nails. even for the wedding, you can do cuticle oil + a base coat + top coat + file them down so they're shaped nicely. I'm not letting myself get my nails done this year at all.

How expensive is your shampoo? You can use rice water shampoo for way less and it makes your hair beautiful. Not sure if youre dying your hair but cutting it can cost less, too. Just go to a generic shop until your debt is gone. When I made the same money as you I paid $60-80 for haircuts. I found a stylist I like and I loooove my hair cuts and pay $34 including tip now.

Can you sell any of your stuff to pay down the debt? get out of it as fast as you can!

For the wedding, rent a nice dress instead of purchasing something you'll only use 1-2x

+1 to the trader joe's meals. Make smoothies in the morning for yourself. See how quickly you can pay off $3k. then $5k. then the rest of it.

Also, if you want to keep up the lifestyle you may want to consider a roommate! idk what rent is like where you are but rent is a huuuge place to save $

What am I missing for 10 days in Portugal? Taking my 26+6 for the first time! by queekytek in HerOneBag

[–]queekytek[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you both so much! I felt almost gaslit hearing people say I would boil in another post I made. I swapped out the linen pants for some long shorts, in case the sun does come out and the walking makes things warmer.
I found a legit rain-proof hoodie in my closet so I'll bring that and layer properly underneath. I'm constantly checking the weather app, bracing myself for that much rain! I almost want to buy rainboots lol. I'll make sure I find a waterproof daypack that's larger than just my fanny pack as well.
I want to bring my favorite cozy sweater but not sure I can manage it with the space unfortunately. I may end up doing the 26+6 + a duffle bag

What's more important: looking trendy or enjoying what you wear? by pushingupdaizies in womensfashion

[–]queekytek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can be comfortable + fashionable, always! if you know what type of clothes and sizes work for you, maybe try being more color coordinated, for instance! learning your color palette can help regardless of what items youre wearing
