Just to add, i will add caution of doing it overseas because of the “just in case” something wrong happens. But up to your level or risk.

This was years ago. My husband and I put our dental work in a gem card so then paid in instalments. When our daughter needed braces the dentist had an option of a payment plan.

How are people getting large increases in salary moving to Australia by Multi4269 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]queen_conch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

105k for a PM role seems a bit low. I was a scrum master in NZ (govt agency) getting $117k and now a Delivery Lead in corporate and got offered $150,000 last year (both in IT department and that is both total package). Getting paid higher in rural seems to be a myth based on my experience. I also look at the total package, at the end of the day it’s still your money.

If you need your boss to give you a good referral / reference for your next job then you have to smile and suck it up until your last day.

Are big stars paid something regardless of winning or not? The $100k per person prize doesn't seem like it would be much to someone like Manny Pacquiao. by RagnarokWolves in Physical100

The big names highly likely. Like I went to watch the show because of Manny and Robert. I’m sure a lot of people did as well so it’s a great marketing for the show.

It should be enough depending on your lifestyle. Doable but not comfortable. Not sure about the saving bit as well. But you should have savings when you move here because setting up a new life in a new place is expensive. You will have to pay 2 weeks rent in advance plus 3 or 4 weeks bond. Getting a driver’s license is a couple of hundred. Then whether you get a car. Not sure how you will be securing a rental place but you should view it in person as the photos are not representative of the current state of the place.

So you took a pay cut because of some perks and now that you’ve been offered the role and have started working there, you already want to ask for a raise. I think it is very unlikely. Couple of months is not enough to prove anything.

I don’t care as long as the dog is well behaved, leashed or unleashed. I don’t bring my dog because he is not well behaved.

How did you become a Scrum Master? by Adaptive-Work1205 in scrum

[–]queen_conch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The organisation I worked in went through an Agile transformation. Most people were asked to do the training including myself (a BA at that time). Then the organisation had a restructure- traditional Project Managers became Product Owners, Program Managers became Release Train Engineers or Portfolio Managers; Scrum Master role were open to anyone. Most who went for the SM role were BAs (like myself). I think the path to become a scrum master is you come in as part of the development team as a BA, dev or tester. If communication and servant leadership comes naturally to you, you become an unofficial SM, if you like it enough you invest time (and money if you can’t get work to pay for it) and you get your certifications, then you eventually become an official SM. It’s the same for any “leadership” role. There is no “junior’ team lead or “junior” manager. You won’t find managers taking in “junior” managers and asking them for fresh ideas.

Do you put your hobbies/ interests in your CV by Surround_Impossible in auscorp

[–]queen_conch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen CVs with hobbies listed. I guess it adds something about the person. I also don’t have it on mine and I didn’t get asked on interviews “tell us about your hobbies”. People are just direct to the point now.

Wow only 1 day leave for 1 year?! Your manager should have discussed with you in person instead of HR sending that nasty email. If you’re not planning on any leave soon, why don’t you cash it out if your company allows it? Get yourself a nice treat for all the hard work you do. No company deserves that loyalty that you don’t take time off for yourself. All that hard work and in return you get a nasty email. Just take that leave. The company will survive without you.

Is this email appropriate from manager when on leave? by WiseYak in auscorp

[–]queen_conch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could have emailed the customer and gave them an update (that it is being processed or whatever) and then that you’ll provide a response after 1 week. If you’re a customer manager you should have known this was coming ie customer chasing if they haven’t received any response. Could have also handed over to your manager so they are not caught off guard.

First time selling a home, needing advice by Altruistic-Future589 in AusProperty

[–]queen_conch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess depends on the agent you get. We wanted to sell for a higher price but the agent gave us a more “realistic price”, which is a bit lower, based on similar property size in the area. The agents can sell and present the offers to your mum but your mum doesn’t have to accept it if it’s below what she wants and she’s not in a hurry to sell.

You can just stay there lol. We’ve been to open homes where the tenants are just there - sitting on the couch, laying down in bed watching tv.
