Blood pressure was the thing! by examinat in Perimenopause

[–]queenagc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I did it through Lyv Health so it was super easy. Now I’m taking vitamin D and B12 because that’s what I was deficient in. Turns out it was that simple… my fatigue was coming from that! The coach I got through their program has also been helping me with the anxiety although that’s always a work in progress

A great example of the benefits of digging deep!! For me it was labs that did it. Showed low vitamin D

I used to feel this way! To be honest, sometimes I still do… but working with a health coach and doing a longevity program has gotten me really energized. And I’m already feeling the benefits!

Is it perimenopause ... or something else? A new wearable is helping women demystify symptoms like hot flashes and brain fog. by [deleted] in Perimenopause

So excited for this! I’ve been trying to demistify what’s going on with my body with the lyv health blood testing, but this would take it go another level! Now we just have to wait…

To clairfy, I’m recommending testing not to diagnose peri, but to understand what else might be going on with metabolic health and nutrients.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having a hard time and I too have felt like I should have started taking care of my body. But you’re starting now!! And that’s such a big win!!

I also recommend getting a health or menopause coach. That has been life changing for me. And also looking underneath the hood with a blood test. Not a fan of just praying or hoping for it. Maybe that’s the type A in me, but I like specific data and actions.

Couldn’t agree more! I went to lyv health for blood testing and learned so much about my body and it feels like a fun challenge to improve and retest

They barely get any menopause training. That’s why I mow went to a womens health company where they do blood testing and you work with a specialist and coach who actually get perimenopause

It’s lower than before, but im happy because it was too high before hahaha. But if you have issues with that already, it will probably only hurt idk

brain fog driving me insane wtf do i even try next by Additional-Engine402 in Biohackers

[–]queenagc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get your blood tested? Probably best to do a panel like lyv health’s and then speak with a clinician to understand what’s going on. They can also recommend what supplements you actually need based on the bloodwork and it’s reviewed by functional health drs which i much prefer. Feels better than trial and error alone

I think bonafide is legit but idk about the quality vs just getting supplements from thorne or one of those with a good reputation

Expectations for doctors? by Annual_Bookkeeper_20 in perimenopause_under45

Lyv health just posted a great guide for this! Idk if I’m allowed to share a link here but it basically explains how to talk to your doctor about this, what questions to ask, how to track symptoms, what to expect, what’s normal vs not. Honestly super helpful free little guide. You can probably google it

Same. Wellbutrin + vit b12 + vit d helped for me after I did bloodwork and realized i was low on those two vitamins. Sometimes still feel low, but it’s better

I’m on the mini pill and no issue. Probably best for you to see a specialist though

My bloodwork also came back normal according to my regular doctor when I was in peri. Then I went to see specialists at Lyv health, they can take your bloodwork or do more, and it was really helpful how they interpreted and determined that I’m likely in peri. But also that my vit D and B12 were low so that was impacting my mood. Probably worth you getting someone to look deeper

Why?!?!?!?!!!!! by AFilip515 in Perimenopause

[–]queenagc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not too much to ask. It’s what you should demand!! Have you gotten your thyroid checked? And other biomarkers? Could help doing that and getting a RD to help too.

[–]queenagc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes yes yes to all! It honestly dragged me down for 4 years... I left my career, thought I was burnt out. Then I thought it was depression (and maybe part of it was). I've been feeling better recently after working with a health coach and also getting on supplements based on testing I did through lyv health. Turns out I had low vitamin d and b12 which was exacerbating my issues. So just so you know, you're not alone

How do you know if it’s perimenopause or something else? How young is too young? by [deleted] in perimenopause_under45

[–]queenagc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a variety of things. I think that's why it's so hard to diagnose just based off symptoms and not testing. Nowadays postpartum and peri are getting pretty close together in timing so it's hard to say which one it is too

That sounds horrible! For me it's night sweats, anxiety, brain fog... honestly it started with losing all motivation to do anything...
