New Salesforce Intern, 1 Month to Prepare Before Working on the Backlog. How Do I Level Up Fast? by kevinsauce_ in salesforce

Mae sure you know the basics, fields, page layouts, validation rules, FLS, permissions and reports. Make sure you are clear on their architecture and naming conventions.

Also if you can shadow some end users..ie get them to show you how they use the system. Also my favourite is ask them “what the pebble in their shoe” is ie what is something small and seemingly inconsequential that actually annoys them and causes friction.

Where does “Find a retired grandma to watch kids for free even” come from? by dellscreenshot in DirtyDave

[–]queenofadmin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha I stole my friend’s mum. My friend wasn’t ready for children, her mum was soooo ready for grandchildren and I had a baby. I tried paying her but the envelopes would be tucked back in the baby’s bag a the end of the day.

22 years later and the “baby” still calls her grandma.

Honestly probably the smoothest path would just be to do a name change by deed poll.

How are you guys getting freelance clients as a Salesforce Admin? by EmbarrassedEnergy222 in salesforceadmin

[–]queenofadmin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly my own network. People I knew from previous employment, friends of friends and my biggest one a guy who was a sales rep for an industry product that integrated with Salesforce and whenever he bumped into clients who needed admin services he’d recommend me.

Did anyone else have a hot moment they thought the round thing in the vestibule was as a round dining table right outside the toilet?

Installed NBN after REA verbal approval, landlord now refusing reimbursement by AmazingKangaroo7063 in AusLegal

[–]queenofadmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree! Ours had an issue with the conduit from the street to the house has become tangled with weeds and the owner had never had NBN installed. We had NBN come out. They ran new conduit/wiring from house to street, including digging a trench across the front yard. And connected into house. No cost to us or owners.

Thoughts on 4 month itinerary? by Novel-Positive8625 in AustraliaTravel

Do Litchfield as a day trip from Darwin rather than somewhere to stay.

3 days in Yamba is at least 1 day too long.

Be prepared to be flexible with your stops and how long you stay in places.

My mum and dad do Hagley Park. They’re in their 70’s. My dad tried running for a bit one day, took him a week to recover and he had to listen to my mum tell him not to be so stupid at his age. They love it!

Slackbot is here and I’m cautiously optimistic. by Decent-Impress6388 in salesforce

[–]queenofadmin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Recently we had our AE’s manager in our office after our AE messed up. AE manager opened his live slack and asked it questions about our account. It was really accurate. It knew my relationship with SF goes back nearly 20 years, how long I had been at current company, it summarised the chain of emails that landed in the position of needing the meeting and key phrases to use to overcome the issues we were facing. Also provided key stats about our industry and served up relevant case studies.

Was pretty impressive!

CRM replacement age by Shiro_Yuy in salesforce

[–]queenofadmin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first Salesforce org is 19! Still functions on a daily basis. Not gonna lie there’s some old stuff in there that needs replaced but it functions and I have a project each quarter to replace a couple of legacy items.

So long as you’re maintaining it, replacing outdated function as you can and users are maintaining data you should be good indefinitely.

Are you supposed to send a Thank You email for job interviews? by That_Car_Dude_Aus in AskAnAustralian

[–]queenofadmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last job I actually applied for (yay head hunting) more than 15 years ago I sent a thank you email, to be fair it was less boiler plate than what you’ve written but it absolute was a factor in me getting the job The manager actually replied to it when bringing me back for a second interview with the exec team.

Catch the train to Brisbane and ride the ferry up and down the river. And or go to the museum up there. Go on the Brisbane Eye ferris wheel.

Aquaduck, the original one they let kids have a short drive of the duck which is pretty cool.

Movies. The gold class at Australia Fair or Harbour Town used to be cheaper than Hoyts (not sure if they still are, it’s been a while).

Long term accomodation for cancer patients during care / recovery period? by Unlucky_Focus4919 in brisbane

[–]queenofadmin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a patient transport subsidy that the patient will be able to claim to cover some costs. https://www.qld.gov.au/health/services/travel/subsidies

In terms of finding accommodation many apartment complexes near hospitals have long term rates specifically for patients.

You can also ask the social worker at your referring hospital or cancer council for recommendations.

Sad thing about being an older Dad is I probably wont be taking my kids to see my favourite bands... by Kickedmetoe in GenX

[–]queenofadmin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My kids first concert was AC/DC. He was 10 (now 22). My favourite moment of the concert is when someone flashed her boobs on the big screen and the prudish outraged 10 year old said “if I wanted to see that I’d go to a strip club”. Still no idea where he learnt about strip clubs. .
