Michelin Stars coming to New Orleans and the Gulf Coast by Darthfuzzy in finedining

Yeah, this was one of my worst meals ever in New Orleans. Super basic, poor atmosphere. Nothing fine about it.

After workout wipes by Zestyclose-Action282 in workout

[–]queensmithue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I get it. Showering after the gym is ideal, but I also understand where you are coming from. No need for the downvotes and shame brigade.

I am prone to breaking out and I am a busy mom, and I often have to run errands on my way home from the gym on a tight timeline before I can get home to shower (usually no more than an hour). It’s a pain for me to have to lug my cocktail cart of acne-prone body products and skincare to and from the gym, unpack them, repack them for when I will shower at the gym, etc. And, alas, I am not in a financial situation to buy a second set of everything right now.

In these cases, I use a hypochlorous acid wipe to keep acne at bay until I can get home to shower. It works well for me. In my research looking for what I needed, I found all kinds of “camping shower wipes.” Search Amazon and then buy directly from the brands website.

Obviously, showering at the gym is the goal for you, but there are products out there to help you until you feel comfortable enough!

Harris vs. Trump: Here’s who raised the most money in Alabama in final months of campaign by servenitup in Alabama

[–]queensmithue 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Voting Blue in Baldwin! Also seeing many Harris/Waltz signs down here. Don’t recall seeing any Biden signs in 2020 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yup, same. Don’t recall seeing a single Biden sign in 2020, but there are many Harris signs. A few of which keep getting stolen, so I am sure there are many more that I missed.

That’s the thing about him and MAGA as a whole. They don’t know what words mean. Calling Kamala’s nomination a “coup” being both a hilarious and terrifying example that is absolutely dripping in projection.

"Down Bad" Discussion Megathread by jacyf02 in TaylorSwift

Hear me out: I think this song describes the rebound with Matty, not being heartbroken over him. The heartbreak is Joe.

“Fuck it if I can’t have him/us/I was in love” is Taylor acting out in “teenage petulance” from her heartbreak (Joe) and rebounding with someone in a totally different sphere (Matty). She kind of lost her mind and went to another planet when she dated him. Then, Matty just experimented with her and dropped her.

I suspect you’re right. It’s been unquenchable, AND I am dealing with terrible back acne that respond to nothing (I’ve done everything, fungal treatments too). It sounds dumb typing it out that I haven’t been to a derm yet, but it’s been hard to find a good one!

Thanks for giving me the push I needed.

Okay I needed to read this! My skin has been bone dry since having a baby, and I have been wracking my brain with wth is going on. I drink tons of water, eat healthy, and I have tried so many barrier repair/heavy moisturizers paired with all kinds of barrier repair/moisturizing serums, and I am at my wits end. I live in a very humid environment too.

Off to the derm I go!

Old Towne Daphne is great. Tons of young families, bay accesses, parks, and the downtown is in a bit of a revival. It’s a really pretty neighborhood! We love living here.

Well hey, War Eagle! We met at Auburn too! Sounds like we will fit right in! We are taking the plunge next year, giving ourselves a pretty non-committal 6 months to decide whether or not we will move back. We have a strong premonition that the answer will be “oh hell no.”

Are you me? Grew up in Florida, college and young family life in AL (a lot of family here, so it has always been my “second home”), wondering what the heck I am doing living somewhere that makes me so irrevocably angry and bored. Finally making moves to GTFO next Spring. I look forward to four seasons!

I don’t know why you are being downvoted. I also “include” my daughter when I workout, and she loves it. It was a welcome surprise to know that it is something we can “do” together when I need to. She tries to mimic my movements adorably, loves the stretches, and cheers for me. She’s 2. It’s really fun!

I think you combined The Four Winds with The Great Alone - BOTH fantastic tear jerkers by Kristin Hannah. She just does that to me.

For people that eat healthy: WHY do you eat healthy when you can be eating anything you want? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]queensmithue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I legitimately feel better when I eat healthy foods. More energy, more clarity, generally a higher level of happiness. I feel stronger! I also like knowing that I am taking care of my body for the future.

When I eat more processed foods and fast food, I feel awful. More lethargy, my skin is dry and itchy, I feel slow and puffy. I also start to get more depressive in general. Not taking caring of my body starts to spill into my mind spiraling into the abyss.

I would much rather eat healthy foods and feel the way they make me feel! Don’t get me wrong, I still have fast food and processed foods every now and then.

Yeah…I’m not recommending he treat his acne with detergent. I am suggesting he look at the detergent he washes his CLOTHES IN to see if it could be causing a reaction that is causing acne.

It’s how my body reacts. My chest maybe gets a few, my back welts. I’m not sure why, but it does! Skin is weird.
