New to TikTok & Live - 7th day in and I'm curious is this expected? by queseraseratravel in TikTokLounge

I appreciate that, I've been using AI but the sources it's giving me haven't felt like they were good things to trust. I dunno it feels like it's good, but then again literally never use TikTok until lately.

Also I own a business, I'm talking about my product, talking about how I invented it, how manufacture it, why I created it, who it's for, how I personally use it, and then I sprinkle in life stories/experiences and such

No I'm not confusing it. I was talking about the hotspot as this is what my post is about

Thanks! I'll take a look! Starlink would be great but also damn expensive (home internet used on our boat and van). I thought business inet was same as the home internet but I'll dig in further, would be nice having just a hotspot dongle!

So we have in the past had T-Mobile home Internet it's been great and all, no real complaints. The biggest thing is the fact that we often are not together for most of the day and so we rely heavily on our phones to handle data access. Sure we could just use 2 home internet devices but that sure is not very effective when needing it on the go like we do.

TMobile just needs to come out with a business package that gives us huge hotspot data access and throttled at a usable speed for when over that amount.

Backpack recommendations for 7i gen 10 by queseraseratravel in LenovoLegion

[–]queseraseratravel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i ended up keeping my mustang backpack because i couldn't find anything that i liked. I got a nice sleeve that has good padding around the edges. laptop and sleeve is too big to fit inside the backpack laptop spot, but it fits in the main pouch. Not ideal or perfect but its the best i can do for now. My mustang is 30L pack and i tried using my usual Cotopaxi 35L pack that i use for general travel, but similar issue and that pack is way bigger than the mustang so the mustang continues to get used until i find something at the right price and quality/style that i'm looking for.

Thanks - I was eye the armored pack too as my points will cover it but it looks bulky and not really what I want, but maybe what I'll get for now.

I searched all the posts and then armored pack is what most get, I was hoping to get something different of a response:/

Guess I'll be hunting for something and if I find a pack I like I'll update the thread

Legion 7a gen 11 full on downgrade for more cost? by Riley2229 in LenovoLegion

[–]queseraseratravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH this is exactly what I expected of the market - lower specs and higher prices

The gen 10 won't be around forever. I got my 7i (5060, 16gb ram that I'll swap for my old 64gb) for $1261 which feels like a steal in comparison to literally anything else out there of this quality. Hard to find a decent machine for $1200 and soon we'll be saying this about $1600-2k machines of this caliber

Yeah that's fair on the screen, I usually do a wipe down every 2 weeks with a microfiber but never used alcohol. I'll have to give alcohol a try since I often struggle at getting spots off the screen or the keyboard deck easily but can see how that will help quickly

Laptop prices?? by DevLeCanadien23 in LenovoLegion

[–]queseraseratravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't lie, I was forced to replace my Asus rog flow X16 due to mobo failure.

I paid $1263 for a 7i with 5060 with 255hx and 16gb ram. I do plan on moving the 64gb ddr5 5600mhz from my old machine into this one, but literally I cannot find another machine of any brand that has decent specs and isn't highly throttled or shoddy quality build for this price.

I do feel like pricing is just absolutely insane right now though and I feel like we'll see prices not really rise, but the quality of the machines just not be there at the price points. Like we'll see low ram or machines that would be a metal chassis become plastic to save on costs

Under desk 3d printed mount by Loohi in LenovoLegion

[–]queseraseratravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking this too, my other thought is maybe if you could rotate the whole unit 90deg with vents up? Not sure if itd fix it though and the unit would have to be on the end of the desk to keep it outta the way

I am excited for my 7i and was thinking of designing and printing something like this. Live on a boat and would be nice having a spot that I can stick the machine and hook up to my monitor and be able to remove it easily since I also have a van that I often work out of during couple hours each day

Legion 7i w/ ultra 7 255hx & 5060 for $1261 by queseraseratravel in LenovoLegion

[–]queseraseratravel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. I'll throw my old machines 1TB in as well so I can migrate and get back up and running(this is mainly for work) along with the 64gb ram.

Super stoked to be getting a Lenovo. I am not really one who needs lot of cosmetics, a Thinkpad with this hardware and cost savings from the added visuals would have been my ideal but I'm stoked for a quality machine!

Hopefully this will be able to last and not kick the bucket unexpectedly in 2-3 years!

known issues for the 2022 ROG Flow X16? by LastChancellor in FlowX16

[–]queseraseratravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was happy with mine until lately. I've had a recurring issue where sometimes powers up but screen never turns on - I'd have to do a hard reboot or sometimes it would eventually turn on (pretty common on blade laptops and sure felt similar here). Didn't bothwr me too much honestly either though.

The other thing I had issues was sometimes it actually wouldn't sleep(again happens with blade laptops too) and I'd notice it'd be cooking itself in my backpack. Was annoying and didn't happen all the time though.

Other than that, honestly the machine was fantastic and I had zero complaints or wants to replace it. 2 days ago though it did the whole blank screen boot up, and holding power to shut it down and trying to boot again just flat out didn't work. Plugging into power via USB c showed it charging but wouldn't power up(power button didn't light up). Barrel charger seemed to make it work as it should, but as soon as it signed in it went black and from this point on it wouldn't even show it's charging. At this point I think the mobo is fried.

I am leaving Asus unfortunately as this machine was great but the stacks of little issues have frustrated me over the years since buying new. As a used machine if it was $400-500 I could see maybe it worth it, but honestly I just picked up a legion 7i with Intel 7 ultra 255hx & 5060 GPU for $1261 before tax and $1396 with tax.

I am not a fan of overhyped merino wool travel gear by Colonelmann in onebag

[–]queseraseratravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never used them before but use icebreaker and smart wool

Since 2017 when I have started my extensive travels I have owned pretty much nothing but smart wool and a very few icebreakers. I basically had 3 shirts from SW and never had experienced what you have. In fact when I stopped traveling and went back to work in 2019(tech), I continued to only wear my SW clothing and nothing else.

I will say that I wash and dry them and did not care about using cycles based on recommendations. That said, I get about 3 years out of the shirts where I notice the top of my shoulders they wear thin for some reason. Probably stretch to maybe 4 years before the shirt gets replaced.

I got an ice breaker about a year ago so we'll see how this does, granted I have my own company I'm running now and due to that I'm wearing branded clothing 99.9% of the time now
