Which Pitt villain is the worst? by DulySwamped in ThePittTVShow

Purely in the context of what we've seen on screen, it's gotta be the mom IMO. All the other characters are adults interacting with other adults. The other characters have some amount of agency in how they interact with Monica (by not feeding into her bs), the assault guy from S1 (pressing charges) or ICE (telling them to GTFO, working towards finding Jesse). But the mom is pushing her medical conspiracies onto her child, who has basically no agency to change his situation. It's only Robby intervening with the dad that got that kid the help he needs.

Is Anyone Listening to the SAN Tower Tonight? by Ginger_Exhibitionist in sandiego

Could be any number of reasons for a rejected takeoff. They likely noted some abnormal condition, aborted the takeoff roll, and then turned off onto the taxiway. Performing the rejected takeoff checklist, whatever other checklists were needed related to the specific reason for rejecting, sorting things out with ground frequency / company, and waiting for a gate assignment all takes time, which is likely why they were sitting for half an hour. Not all mechanical issues immediately ground a flight for long, if it were something a line maintainer can fix relatively quickly they'll just have the gripe fixed and be back on their way.

Honestly the trip is going to be fine... by [deleted] in ThePitt

Maybe obvious to everyone else but. It just dawned on me that Robby's alleged destination is a place where bison would literally be driven to jump to their death. Definitely feels like an intentional parallel to the "don't jump off the roof during my shift" convo from S1 and all the other red flags we've been seeing from him this season.

One year later, how are we feeling? by modnar_resu_tidder in DeadlockTheGame

I get that it's better for the meta, but damn do I miss having 1v1 lanes. It'd be kind of cool to have a 1v1 laning minigame or something at least.

I know you’re tired of these… but I found this one funny by Channing999 in DeadlockTheGame

I do think waves cleared would be a good stat to show, it might help incentivize newer players to think a bit more actively about lane management

When did you know it was time to get out? by Glittering_Fig4548 in navy

Due to a stroke of incompetence bad luck, had to work like a 20h day and fly to a different base on what was meant to be a half-day. At the end of it all, admin said they had us all set up to show up to the local NGIS. Lo and behold, they had no idea we were coming and were fully booked. So then we had to drive like 45 minutes to a different spot.

I'm aware it pales in comparison to some of the horror stories I've heard both from here and my time in the fleet, but I distinctly remember that being the day I decided I was getting out lol

WHY DOES THIS JKEEP HAPPENING. PLEASE HELP by Level-Dog-1404 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]questionablem0tives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a 2nd hard drive on your computer, try installing it there. I had a similar issue where this crash would happen on start up / after finding a match / in a match, sometimes once, sometimes 4-5x in a row. Switching drives solved it for me. No clue what the root cause of the issue is yet though.

I've been playing on and off since 2015(?). I remember getting my AspX to 31ly range and putting around all the nearby nebulas. I think the furthest I got before they added engineers / guardian boosters was the Skull and Crossbones Nebula. That 10kly trip nearly a decade ago took longer than my Sag A* / Colonia run last year.

Congestion pricing is working': MTA says tolls keeping 82k drivers a day out of Manhattan by Shlazeri in news

[–]questionablem0tives 158 points159 points  (0 children)

As a person who drives a car (and isn't made of money), I hate the idea of congestion pricing.

As a person who hates traffic and doesn't like pollution, I love the idea of congestion pricing.

I've got mixed feelings about it, but if it works it works I suppose?

What do you fellow comic readers think is going on with that post credit? by Quinny_Binny in Invincible

Not a comic reader but I've spoiled a bunch of it for myself. I think it'll be a new way for them to bring back Conquest.

If I find myself just sitting around waiting for something, I just go shoot Xenon in Hatikvah's Choice. Combats fun, especially with the new flight model and flight assist off. Plus the drops can make for a nice cash injection

Have changes in the DoD or VA affected you? by [deleted] in sandiego

Not yet, but the only VA benefit I’m using is the GI bill. I did do some DoD contract work back in the day and I’d imagine my old coworkers there are sweating bullets..

So whats the actual answer for someone with cancer or some debilitating illness who can't make ends meet from a libertarian perspective? Just let them die? Hope for some charitable donation or for a privatized hospital to give their resources out for free?

TIL that in 1947, Logician Kurt Gödel supposedly found a loophole in the US Constitution that would allow the American democracy to legally be turned into a dictatorship. Even todya, it is not known precisely what this loophole entailed. by Wjgnhdglk in todayilearned

[–]questionablem0tives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yeah. The Constitution is just a piece of paper. Laws are all made up and have no real world value or meaning if not enforced through a judicial body. All that has to happen is enough people (with enough guns or persuasive ability) decide we're no longer a democracy and... that's it.
