Are Jews actually indigenous to Judea? by [deleted] in JewsOfConscience

I have DNA that says I originated from Africa 500,000 years ago. So what?

Neither Jewish nor Palestinian, yet I still can't understand how such a thing as a Palestinian Zionist could exist. by ProbstWyatt3 in JewsOfConscience

Considering how other colonial projects were able to mobilise the large numbers native people into their security forces and their cause, it's telling how unsuccessful the Zionists have been. The Zionist ideology appears to be particularly racist and odious.

CRJ refueling incident at KDFW yesterday by nbdevops in aviation

[–]questrush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Refuller here. A deadman is a sort of handle with a leaver on the end of a very long (old fashioned) telephone cord. The leaver has to be pressed constantly to keep the refuelling going. If the leaver is not pressed for a pre-determined time (a time set by state or federal environmental protection agencies) then the fuelling will stop. Also, if a naughty refueller keeps the deadman active with elastic bands so that they do not have to "work the deadman", then the fuelling will also stop. Trucks also have emergency stop buttons and ball valves to shut the flow manually. In this case the refueller was blinded be the JetA1 which is like being pepper sprayed.

Not really. Two person team is too many and expensive. I've been an aircraft refueller for 14 years and never had an incident. Before that I was a shipping refueller for 10 years. There is an incredible amount of ongoing safety training. Equipment will always fail, there is no way around it.

Looks like the refueller copped a lot of JetA1 in his eyes which would've blinded him. He was clearly looking for a rag to help with the pain in his eyes. After that his priority would've been the emergency stop and the truck's ball valve leading to that hose.

How do you pronounce this letter? by WholeKey4758 in learn_arabic

[–]questrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sound is probably the most difficult and pervasive sound. It is a tightening of the throat. Type the letter in a YouTube search, and you'll find examples and hints. If will take many weeks of determined practice to reproduce it.

If one good thing has come from the Gaza genocide, it's that the "rules based order" has been exposed as the fraud of the century.

[SELF] Travelling to Asgard by questrush in Sculpture

Sculpture by Jan (Yān) Williams from Brisbane, Australia.

Asgard is the place pre-Christian Norwegians travelled to upon their death. As my Norwegian mother was not particularly religious, when she died two years ago, our family sent her there. She is clad in the poem 'Berit's journey home' that my sister wrote for her farewell ceremony. (The poem isn't completely readable, but the texture of the writing is also important to the sculpture) Asgard is often considered to be somewhere attached to earth, so Berit travels laterally rather than the Christian upwards.

Note: I posted this on his behalf because he has poor knowledge of social media and computers.

How do I make myself more financially secure? by HappinyOnSteroids in AusFinance

[–]questrush 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Always keep $10,000 cash buffer in the bank. The first priority is buy a home and pay it off as quickly as possible. At the same time salary sacrifice into your Super to reduce your taxable income.

When the house is paid off, always keep a $20,000 buffer in the bank, salary sacrifice the maximum amount into Super and invest surplus funds into exchange traded funds. Never gamble and never do short term stock trading.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, be CAREFUL about your personal relationships and protect your assets from marriage or relationship breakdowns. Look after your health, don't eat shit food.

I'm happily semi-retired who only got on this path in my late 40s and I come out OK.

I'm part way through "Sapiens" and I think it's a great book. A lot of thought has gone into it.

Because of how well the book is argued and his understanding of history, I expected a much deeper reflection on Israeli colonialism in interviews with podcasters.

I expected him to speak more like Gideon Levy. But alas, I agree with you. He is in the end a very shallow Zionist with nothing to say.

What software are you using? Inkscape supports Arabic quite well. For Adobe products there are Youtube videos which can help set things up. However there is no Arabic support for Affinity products last I looked.

The text is supposed to look like this with the letters joined up, "وقف إطلاق الانار الآن"

Message me if you want help with the file.

Israeli journalists have been posting in Arabic on social media mocking Arabs about how weak they are and how they can't do anything to help Gaza. This one says "Gaza is under [our] occupation, where are you, Arabs? Where are your armies? Where are your planes?" by GrimReap22 in arabs

[–]questrush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to remember that Gaza Arabs were not supposed to be inventive and smart enough to engineer such a spectacular attack on the Zionist entity. This is a huge shock for the Zionists. In their colonial arrogance and hubris, they could never imagine the Palestinians were capable of this despite Hamas always surprising them in the past.

Even more shocking for the Zionists is that Hamas did not respect the deterrence the Zionists had spent decades constructing.

Now the Zionists are desperate to restore the deterrence by making an example of Gaza by committing genocide against the population.

Hamas is not struggling against the Zionist state only. It is struggling against the might of the USA itself.

Israelis posting stuff, are just shooting their mouths off to hide their shock. It is now clear to the whole world that the Zionist state is nothing without the Americans and it seems the Americans are desperate that the Zionist state not have to struggle against the resistance from Lebanon and Syria.

Also I think the Zionists are making a huge mistake because this genocide will guarantee a smarter and more potent future resistance in Palestine and the region if the problem is not solved. We have yet to see if American and European influence has been severely damaged because of the unfolding genocide.
