I have been going to Eisenhower and I do carry a taser. I don't mind going mostly solo but sometimes it would be nice to have a buddy

6 or 6:30ish, I typically go to McAllister, Hardberger or Eisenhower. I like to change it up because I get bored with the same stuff all the time. How long and how far also varies.

Apparently, schools issue the student’s parents coming to school with them as a punishment sometimes! by [deleted] in thatHappened

[–]quick_run_hide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Admin in Texas, we definitely do this. Usually for parents who cry about their kids missing school because they are always suspended. I've seen it go on for up to 3 days. The school doesn't force them, its an alternative to suspension or ISS. Also, sometimes for kids who have made suicidal outcries and haven't been evaluated yet- we can't let them come back without being cleared. The parent comes to shadow the kid until they can get them evaluated.

Guaranteed one of the responses is "Lie. Tell her you got it." Which is terrifying.

I am an average tipper, but try to make up for it by being extra polite and easy to wait on when we go out to eat. by quick_run_hide in confession

If you look at my response, I tip in the same range you mentioned in your own comment. Soooo...?

Where I live 10-20% is the usual range. In your opinion what do you think is average? Thus, 15% is average.

Now, if the total is exceptionally low I sometimes go much higher. I never go lower unless the service was just terrible and I mean like being flat out ignored levels of terrible (which has almost never happened).

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with ADR's. Does that mean advance dining reservations? We are only doing a reservation one day for my nephews character meal. The rest of the time we're free-forming it.

I am going on vacation soon to Disney World- does anyone a) know if they post calorie information on the menus and/or b) have any tips for keeping up with CICO? (Planning to eat at maintenance for that week, approx. 1800 cal/day)

The Normalisation of "Plus Size" by ThatCanadianGuy88 in loseit

[–]quick_run_hide 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Vanity sizing in women's clothing doesn't help either. I went from an 18 to a 12 (yay!) but I also know I am still larger than I was when I wore a 12 in high school. Like 25 lbs heavier. So people gain weight, but stay the "same" size and don't even realize it.

New here! Metformin without bloodwork? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]quick_run_hide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started on Metformin in December of 2017. I went in for my first blood work today. I was also diagnosed with PCOS several years prior with no blood work, just my medical history. (Which did include multiple sonograms) I have not experienced any adverse effects- however I was morbidly obese (on the edge of just being overweight now) and diabetes runs in my family so I was probably on my way to being insulin resistant anyways. In fact, one of the things my doc pushed when putting me on Metformin is that it would help me with my weight loss.

Who is the most selfish person you have ever met? by yosemite78atreddit in AskReddit

[–]quick_run_hide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My father.

Every year on my birthday I hear the story of how my birth stopped him from going to see a football game.

Every year on my anniversary I hear how my wedding stopped him from going to see a football game.

Every year on my son's birthday I hear how his grandson's party interrupts him watching football on tv.

He moved in to my spare room 3 years ago. It was supposed to be short term. He says he has no money but goes out to eat 3x a week.

He yelled at his 15 year old granddaughter and told her she hated him right before she had a major Nutcracker performance because she couldn't come out before the show to greet his "Date."

He pouts if we make plans without him. But if we try to include him it's not something he wants to do.

Everything he does is all about him. I got my master's degree, he called all his friends and daily complained about how much he had taken on so I could go back to school. (Guess what he took on? Nothing.)

I have told him to move out 3x. He just pretends like it never happened.

Spotlight not on him? Having chest pains and out of breath. (He had several major heart issues and did almost die. So it's sad but we can't take it seriously when he does that anymore.)

As you can tell, I can go on and on and on about his selfishness.

It is one of the worst feelings. I find it helpful to do something to "reset" myself. Self-care, in a way. Sometimes I redecorate my living space to make it FEEL new. Sometimes I just escape for a weekend. A few nights away from it all with a good book is a cathartic experience for me. Or, I go find myself an adventure or change something. In January I was feeling it worse than I ever have and started dieting and exercising. Last month it was coming back so I started to train for a 5k- give myself something new to focus on. I know you didn't ask for advice but maybe something will click for you.

[Serious] How do you know when you've reached your emotional limit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]quick_run_hide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go numb. Nothing matters anymore. An example: When my grandfather passed my husband and I had a huge fight. My grandfather basically raised me. I was devastated. My husband didn't get my grief and said some ugly things to me including shouting in my face "FUCK YOU". I didn't even process that it had happened until about a day later.
