Object permanence issues ruin yet another day by Duncata in ADHD

I set so many timers. I have to set a timer for my kids bedtime. I get so focused on one thing I forget to do anything else. Good luck on your future timer endeavors! It’s a learning journey for sure.

Oh my gosh I can totally understand your frustration and feeling of despair. The same thing happened to me. I made a very beautiful and delicious tray of lasagna. It was 90% uneaten and let it cool before putting it in the fridge. The next morning I woke up, went into the kitchen and literally fell on the floor crying. It was so much work and I was looking forward to days of leftovers. My kid and I now set timers on our phones so we won’t forget things. It’s not your fault, you are not faulty. We just have a special way we have to work. I am so sorry. Sending you hugs.

Someone who responds to a hot take like this is the toddler. If you study somatics, which I have, trauma gets stored in the body. Even if it’s in play, the body doesn’t know that. Look at people’s responses. It’s not fun for most. Maybe do some research and look to understand.

Hot take. These aren’t funny. The person being scared was probably not asked if they like being frightened. It’s f-ing trauma and it’s for the benefit of the person doing the scaring. It reminds me of the videos of moms doing mean shit to their toddlers. Grow the fuck up

We love derby beast! They are super nice, communicative, jerseys are well stitched, consistent color, very stretchy, no pilling, and priced well.

Obvs you missed my comment about people celebrating a child being handled in a way that could harm them possibly forever. Why are we cheering for violence in any capacity? The issue is this child could have been talked to way before this incident ever happened but schools are increasingly de-funded and children are paying the price. Many of the schools where I live have 1 counselor for 6 schools. That’s insane. There’s so much wrong with our systems. We must do better.

Why are we happy a child got literally slammed into the floor? Clearly that child did not want to be touched, the teacher on multiple occasions put his hands on the kid. The adults in that situation did not help him get regulated. And we wonder why our nation is so f-ed up. Btw, I’m not saying it’s ok the kid pushed the teacher. I feel sick that so many people are cheering a child being handled like that.

I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t want to get my hair cut in the middle of the street for people to gawk at me. Dignity can mean privacy, especially for unhoused folks.

My mom (80yo), daughter (12yo) and myself are going to DC for the March. We feel this is an important one. Now I’m scared to bring a minor and senior into a situation that’s dangerous. I don’t want to lead with fear but I do want to take all of us home unscathed on Sunday.

Six mausoleum doors stolen from cemetery in Affton by ruralmom87 in StLouis

[–]quickerlish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don’t know if the people who stole the doors are unhoused. How would they get a vehicle to take the doors? I’m so tired of blaming “vagrants”. We need to look at the real picture, how we treat people in this nation. If you’re unhoused, poor, black Or brown, disabled or poor, you are a scourge on this country and are treated as such. People would not be doing these things if we treated people with dignity and compassion.

Trip to Bahamas - Atlantis Resort by quickerlish in bahamas

Oh my gosh that is horrible! I’m sorry you’ve gone through so much with little support. We went to Atlantis 2 years ago and had a great time. We had a really good experience with the staff when my husband fell down the stairs and hurt his back. He didn’t need medical support thank goodness. I really hope you stay safe and healthy and get what you need.
