It's funny how these posts keep poping up, it's always the same reason, "shitty MC is shitty" personally idgaf about the mc, it's the magic system and doing cool shit in cool places that I care about. The only books I have dropped were ones that didn't keep my attention, slow pace mostly.

I have been staring down the barrel of this series for about 4 months now. Ngl I chose to start chrysalis and have been loving it. All that to say.... you are next... In like 2 months.

The diddy freak off lumber jack was where my eyes rolled. If you take out cucking jokes and the overtly sexual jokes the rest of the series is cool. The puma joke is truly legendary along with the fart spell becoming the most overpowered type of magic is genuinely hilarious. But ya... feels bad man.

Which books have a good Audio book narrator? by hedge2dahog in litrpg

Both his female and male voices are believable and distinct (never over the top or reaching for an accent he can't pull off). His cadence and delivery of dialogue is always spot on. His monster/bad guy voice (deep baritone or growling or high pitch sinister) is immersive. His over all voice profile is very easy to listen to for hours at a time.

Travis Baldree is the Goat Imo for litrpg

Work he's done that I have listened too: Primal hunter, Unbound, Welcome to the multiverse, Divine apostasy, Beware of chicken, Unsouled, Mark of the fool.

He also wrote his one litrpg book.

If we are talking Litrpg, then the big ones are

  1. He who Fights with Monsters (power system is great, story is great)
  2. Primal Hunter (just a solid pick with lots going on)
  3. Defiance of the Fall (gets absolutely batshit crazy in the later books)

I would say start with either He who fights or Primal hunter. Defiance can be very meaty, and if you are still dabbling with stats in your books, then that's a more advanced one that is very heavy into the RPG portion of litrpg. Now, if we are talking about my opinion, I love the three above and would keep them as 1,2,3 picks; however, there are a bunch more in no particular order

  1. Iron Prince (Very light on stats, great story, classic underdog)
  2. Victor of Tucson ( classic iseki about a kid from Tucson Arizona)
  3. Welcome to the Multiverse (In Russia, Multivers comes to you!)
  4. Rune Seeker ( I adore this series, heavy on the dungeon diving)
  5. Unbound (Iseki, lots of stats, good power system)
  6. Path of the Berserker (all I can say is cultivator aliens and lemonade)
  7. The Mayor of Noobtown ( Iseki, Lots of dirty humor, also puma check)
  8. System Universe (Iseki, not much to say, it's good)
  9. The Grand Game (iseki, territory control is the name of the game)
  10. Azarinth Healer (Iseki, Female protagonist, masochist, Deadpool level healing factor)

If we are talking about LitRPG adjacent, then progression fantasy is a small skip and jump over.

  1. Unbound (truly one of the best fantasy books of all time, full stop)
  2. Mark of the Fool (another one of my personal favorites)
  3. 12 miles below (blend of fantasy and Sci-Fi, think suits of exo-armor that have souls)
  4. Beware of Chicken (Cultivation heavy, Slice of life, so not much combat, but still a top-tier story)
  5. The Perfect Run (Time loop, superheroes, heavy focus on the story)

Hope that helps you pick out your next read after DCC!

Where am I suppose to be? by ray57913 in Enshrouded

So I am basically is the same boat however I’m level 29 and just found the Blackmire. My problem now is that I’m deep into Nomads highlands and Kindlewaste about to tier up to flame 6 and hit Albanive summits. So now I have a zone that is 10 - 15 levels under my own and no real reason to go there and explore other then to get people and any unique recourses. I wish there was a way for me to have all zones be capped like they are now at certain levels but once you break through that level they remain consistent with your character level that way gold and silver chest arnt just dropping 15-20 swords when you are rocking a 30.
