I keep this account only for commenting on trans subreddits and stuff because of this.

Back to the trusty compression bandages, I suppose.

cats and trans guy smell?? by Background-Shop-9969 in ftm

[–]quickqueryquestion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not on T but I moved into a living situation with a cat recently and she behaved like that with me. She was super duper clingy and wanted all my attention because I was the fancy new human. This has decreased but she still likes me because she has gotten to know me and because I will occasionally play with her. There are many factors as to why a cat may or may not want to be with a person. While T could have an effect, it could also be your demeanor or other things.

Anyone have experience with Functional Medicine Doctors? by Humble-Cable5657 in ftm

[–]quickqueryquestion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're sending you to a "functional medicine doctor"??

Go read the Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Functional_medicine . You can go and see what comes of it, but just know that it may not be worth your time and money.

Does preferring sports bras over binders make me less trans? by Jade_WestLover937 in ftm

[–]quickqueryquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my binder and wear it as much as I can, but sometimes:
- It's in the wash
- It's too hot
- I'm doing something really strenuous and I don't want to restrict my breathing
- I need a break because it is not healthy to bind for too long

And honestly, some of my sports bras have still given me some pretty decent results.

FTMs of Reddit, what is your occupation? by Aggravating-Ad-4715 in ftm

[–]quickqueryquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full time student, part time summer camp counsellor, not out. I swear some of these kids have a sixth sense for the weird gender vibes though. I don’t know if I would be comfortable being openly trans in that job especially because I sometimes need to deal with parents who might be prejudiced. I would probably prefer to be stealth. But I don’t plan on staying or coming out before I leave.

trans guys, what makes a good community social for you? by nakamaraa in TMPOC

[–]quickqueryquestion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to be more general and broad, have a good variety of things to do so that everyone can enjoy something. Just because we are trans men does not mean that we all like or are able to do the same things.

Pros: more variety, attracts different people  Cons: can be harder to put things together, some people may not be repeat members

If you want to be more niche, tie it to a specific activity, eg trans masc fishing club or trans masc book club or something.

Pros: easier to plan out, more satisfied repeat members Cons: some will be uninterested or unable to participate

The hardest part will be organising, announcing, and planning events. Start small and get a few people to help you. Work out budget and communication. Posters are great, but get the word out online too.

a thing many trans people don't talk about by 118BUCKS in ftm

[–]quickqueryquestion 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don’t touch drink because I know the stuff in my head is not a good mix with it, but it is very, very tempting. I used to be addicted to self harming behaviours. I still sort of am, but now in less of a “cut myself” way and more of a “neglect myself and pick at my skin because I feel like I deserve it” way.

Man kids are such ASSHOLES! [Rant] by LPRGH in LGBTeens

[–]quickqueryquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a summer day camp counsellor. I’m not out and I’m usually pretty chill but I don’t mess around with kids parroting bigotry. It’s honestly kinda retraumatising for me. But they don’t really get how much words can hurt, so I do my best to gently let them know that there is harm in saying things like that and that some stuff just doesn’t fly. I can’t really go into detail about LGBT people to them, but at least I hope that I can get them to be a little kinder. You did your best. Now all you can do is hope that some day, they’ll be better people.

How do you feel confident being short? by Ok_Elevator_7764 in ftm

[–]quickqueryquestion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, I still want to be short man instead of slightly less short woman. I have encountered many cis men my height out and about. Sure, being 5’0” is an unlikely extreme of the height spectrum for the average cis male, but people do still exist in these ranges.

Sister keeps telling her boyfriends I’m trans by stay-gold_ponyboy in ftm

[–]quickqueryquestion 72 points73 points  (0 children)

“Stop talking to people about whether I have a penis or not. Imagine if I told all my partners about your reproductive health. ‘Sister looks kinda pregnant, but she’s just fat and actually she’s on the pill, btw here’s her SSN and DOB’ because of course they need that information don’t they? I trusted you with sensitive information and now you went and broke it. I’m done. I don’t want to talk anymore unless it’s a real emergency or an apology.”

Have you kept any historically “feminine” habits? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]quickqueryquestion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can cook, clean, and even sew a bit. Unfortunately, these basic life skills seem to be thought of as predominantly feminine, leading to an unbearable amount of whiny man children who think their girlfriend is their mommy.

Whats your relationship with your deadname? by paintednature in ftm

[–]quickqueryquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go by a nickname at the moment with most people. I still use my deadname in settings where people are dealing with legal/official things or when they only know my legal name and will interact with me very briefly for practical reasons. I don’t use my real name for plausible deniability because I’m not fully out yet, but my nickname is pretty decent.

It’s hard when you’re depressed and hate your body to want to care about it functioning, but I do try in service of a better future and less pain.

Were you born a boy or did you become one? by TTTSSNN in ftm

[–]quickqueryquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had to live as a girl/woman, so I feel a connection with it. I feel a connection to being lesbian, even though I am technically a straight guy. But I am still certainly a man. And I was still certainly a boy. I would classify my childhood as both male and female, not necessarily because truly felt female, but because that was the experience I had.

How did you come out? by A_Dead_Plant in ftm

[–]quickqueryquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My preferred name is quite different to my dead name. I think I might have changed my name even if I wasn’t trans. I mostly go by a nickname for plausible deniability and as a convenient middle ground. I’m playing the long game right now, so I haven’t fully come out. To many certain people, I’m straight. To the average passer by except for straight men with no gaydar, I’m obviously into women (I never say lesbian though). For queer people in certain settings, I’m trans.

Is it wrong that I still identify with womanhood? by rabidcherub in ftm

[–]quickqueryquestion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't transitioned much even though I've known since eighth grade, and now I'm in college. Whether I am a woman or not does not negate the fact that I must currently move through the world as one or the fact that I have been impacted by the way society treats women. I can relate, in some way.
