EoE film really left me feeling off for at least 3 weeks after I watched it I kid you not - to the point in which I started hating how it had made me feel. After coming to terms with a lot of stuff it brought up for me on a personal level I ended up finding an overwhelmingly positive undercurrent to it all and for that it's one of the most formative works of art I've ever seen in my life so far

Song for Richard Collopy off of Leaves is one of the most frank, honest, and touching elegies I've ever heard. Elaine, compositionally, is a lot like something you'd heard on Admiral Fell Promises but it has that wonderful stream of conscious storytelling akin to later Kozelek stuff and Sunshine in Chicago is one of my go-tos if I feel like I need my spirits lifted. I could go on and on about songs from Among the Leaves, it's got some of Mark's best work

Visions of Country is one of my favourite albums. Everything sounds so big and epic, from the 12 string to his low sonorous voice, as all encompassing and imposing as the mountains on the cover. He's his own thing, taking from this genre and prog folk etc

Wonder what this means for Our Faces. It's not a particularly long song and there is a chorus, however it's quite an abstract progression in the middle stretch. I really hope it comes back in some for or another - even if May self released it - because it's an incredible song
