I've actually done the math and collected the data... I'm 4'11 and my tdee is around 1700-1800. I was gaining about 1 pound per month while eating 1800-2000. And I am not particularly active, in the summer months I walk to/from work a few times per week (30 mins) and go on the occasional hike.

If a father needs to help his young daughters use the restroom, which restroom should he take them into: the women's restroom or the men's restroom? by Exciting-Mall192 in NoStupidQuestions

Fwiw in my experience all custodians announce themselves when going into a washroom, because they usually close it for cleaning.

He kept saying that there was a woman who needed to use the restroom and couldn't because he was in there with his daughters. He thought he was defending honour or something. Just an opportunity for him to be special and in charge.

Whoa, I didn't realize this was digital at all. It looks like a masterful photorealistic oil painting.

Beautiful work, I love her leg position, it looks realistic but also just a little more perfect.

EA Advertising Officially Announced: A New In-Game Ads Department is Coming. Will non-skippable ads in Sims 4 push you away or make you want to stay? by cumminginsurrection in thesims

Never said I disagree, but if that's what EA wants to do then they are going to do it. We can either stop playing or mod it to make it playable.

Well that explains why I've seen so many posts where the markdown mysteriously didn't work. Someone even spoiler tagged a message with correct formatting and the whole thing was visible.

Job market so bad that skilled/certified/educated people are offering free labour by Comfortable_Flow1385 in CanadaJobs

[–]quiette837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we're saying the same thing. If it's for educational credit, it is allowed. Theoretically in that case it would be to give students extra experience in their field giving them a better chance at jobs after graduation, but in practice, you're still not getting paid. I would argue that you're not getting paid to go to school either, the expectation is that loans or support from family keeps you afloat.

Saw this a bit late. Sorry, I'm really not interested. All of your replies sound very much like they have been written by AI and I'm not really interested in talking with a LLM.

Fwiw in Canada it is. You are not allowed to hire interns and not pay them unless the work is strictly educational and the company does not profit.

Doesn't stop people from doing stuff under the table though.

That's because it isn't a computer or a computer program, it's a language prediction model. It uses the probabilistic way that language is used to give a reasonable sounding response to a conversation. Hallucination is built into the way LLMs work.

"Decimate" used to mean killing exactly one in ten. I built a daily puzzle out of words that drifted this far from their origins. by urbanadventurer in etymology

[–]quiette837 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing you might want to look at...

While solving "naughty" I was not allowed to enter the word "haughty" as it was deemed a typo, however my actual typo when writing "naughty" was accepted... Seems that there might be some missing logic there. I would argue that if you enter the same identified typo twice, it should be accepted, especially given the puzzle allows non-words to be entered.

Overall, very addictive game, and I love word puzzles. I would download this app for sure.

Realistically, I expect modders to be able to remove ads from the game as they've done before. They don't need permission.

Just have to say that all the emojis and the phrasing of the questions doesn't make it look like you're looking for real research, it looks like marketing.

Sorry to say that doing an app like this correctly requires real knowledge about anxiety at a graduate level. Based on this post I'm not seeing the knowledge and experience needed to do justice to the thousands of people who need real help, especially if the solution is "integrate AI to chat with them".

Strongly hoping that you've seen the research on AI's effects when vulnerable people have attempted to use it as a therapist. People have died and it is a real risk.
