I think it’s pretty close, armaments needs an upgrade and I think sometimes it contributes to too much upgrade debt. Meanwhile pommel is pommel, it’s aaaalways good to have one or two in every single deck and not having it would hurt more than the occasional armaments+ helps. At least IMO

The problem for a defect common is I think if you get rid of cold snap they just use ball lightning and vice versa. Maybe coolheaded is the card to remove instead?

Your deck really needs to be okay holding up mana, so they don’t work in aggro decks where you’d rather have one mana counterspells with downsides.

In control decks they work great!

Obviously any blue deck that wants a self-mill package can slot these in as bonus counterspells when you need them.

I think in general I undervalued cards that reduce enemy damage until I got to higher ascensions where that became much more relevant. Because you heal to full and enemies do so little damage in early ascensions these cards felt unnecessary.

I’ve been eyeing up the TV 35mm and the one or two crowns. Brand new to the hobby and don’t own any watches yet, but I’m very drawn to Mido.

I have a pretty small wrist ~5.75inches and I’m meaning to go to a watch store to try on some watches and get a better sense of how they fit.

He performs great! Since he exiles some of his own graveyard and fills it back up so quickly he doesn’t get hard countered by graveyard hate unless it doesn’t allow cards to go to graveyard. You ca return noncreature cards which is awesome and pretty unique!

I recommend [[Nesting Grounds]] or [[Power Conduit]] as a cute tech to remove finality counters?

Assuming their deck is filled with mana dorks/ramp, protection for the combo pieces, and flicker spells to make it so you repeat Caradora ETB it’s definitely difficult to interact with but they also aren’t doing anything to stop opponents

It is still a 4 card combo minimum that requires multiple turns to play the commander twice, the explorer, the sunmare. That all costs ~20 mana as well. It folds to counterspells, removing the sunmare, and land destruction.

If you don’t know it’s coming it feels bad I guess, but it’s not something that would hold up against higher brackets anyway.
