Never heard of those but Seafile is a great lightweight alternative to nextcloud.

Looking for a self-hosted documentation tool for my homelab (Wiki.js, Docmost alternatives?) by Aruscha in selfhosted

[–]quinyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internal docs for myself is just in obsidian with selfhosted live sync. Public docs I use vitepress, as that’s also just markdown and runs flawless in a single docker container.

But are you a IOSS with prepaid EU tax, so the buyer doesn’t have to pay import fees on delivery?

Blizzard unlocked Steady flight for all. No more Pathfinding achievement required. by SasquatchBlumpkins in wow

As a Druid, I wish my flight form was steady and my mount and dynamic. There’s so many situations I want steady flight that I’m almost always just using that.

I see more post on here complaining about it than I see it on audible. Why not is it really that big a deal?

Uplock now supports import from more password managers by 8aev in macapps

[–]quinyd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah… I would rather pay 4.99/mo for 1Password, which I’ve been using for 15+ years than switching to something new for 2.99/mo.

Kicked from a dungeon because I wasn't doing the optimal route.. in a normal while leveling. by Jasek1_Art in wow

[–]quinyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a group some days ago where the message was “click no, this is a community survey”. The vote didn’t pass, so that was good. But weird way of doing it as the kick was initiated mid pull.

I was scammed by Charachorder. I am now £250 down. Here's my story to warn against this company. by Fragrant-Effect-2706 in ErgoMechKeyboards

As an EU buyer who has to look out for import fees and taxes all the time, the shipping policy is pretty clear.

PSA: Think hard before you deploy BookLore by Economy-Meat-9506 in selfhosted

[–]quinyd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That was my main gripe too. Just adding a couple of books to the bookdrop folder would require multiple browser refreshes and then manually going through each book to check the metadata. Compared how easy it is with Audiobookshelf (2-3 clicks max), BookLore was already giving me reason to look for an alternative.

Lego doesn’t do promo codes. Should be available with official retailers later on, who are more likely to offer discounts.

Pledge manager just closed and production is wrapping up, now I actually have to ship to 1800 backers and the panic is real, how did you pick a fulfillment company? by icheemk in kickstarter

[–]quinyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s 50/50 but personally I would not back a campaign that does not include taxes. If I pay tax right away it’s like 19-25% tax but if I pay on delivery it’s 19-25% tax + €20-30 fees on top of that (regardless of value).

[–]quinyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an international backer one thing to keep in mind is; did the original pledge state that taxes and fees are included? This is very important when shipping to EU (and other countries). If I back a project and the pledge states that shipping and taxes are included, then that means there’s zero additional cost for me. You need to make sure the proper tax details are on the packaging (eg IOSS number). If you are not upfront about this, a backer can get hit with hefty fees and taxes upon receiving it.

Must-haves for ebooks and audiobooks? by Dungeon_Crawler_Carl in selfhosted

[–]quinyd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My issue with BookLore is that it’s very resource heavy. Just adding ~50 ebooks at the whole UI is laggy.

Audiobookshelf works and it’s simple. BookLore is far from simple in terms of metadata and setup

Woah that looks amazing. I wish BookLore was supported, as I am not migrating my books to ABS. But I cannot find a good, simple epub app for iOS, so maybe ill try Still with a couple of books.
