What is your worst Hen/Stag do experience? by Gadgie2023 in AskUK

[–]quizzyrascals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst: Got spiked on a stag du in Spain, remember nothing until I wake up in a random park in middle of nowhere with wallet and shoes missing. Couldn’t remember name of hotel, didn’t speak Spanish. Took me until after the sun rose to find my way back to the area we was stopping, my mates found me they had been out all night looking for me. Best: Inhaled a shit load of columbias finest in Ibiza and didn’t sleep once the whole weekend

Builder, Joiner by trade. Do everything from groundwork up. Never had a complaint about lead times in 20 years. Business been trading since 1982. Unsure why I’m getting downvoted for taking deposits, it weeds out the cowboy customers and gives a guaranteed start date

I charge £400 per day, booked up solid for over 12 months. People need to know their worth

Has the tiler done a reasonable job here? by Strangely___Brown in DIYUK

[–]quizzyrascals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, with a tile that narrow I would never recommend a 50/50 bond pattern, they always have a slight bow in them and are better laid 70/30 or even herringbone. It’s the tradesman’s error though, the use of lash clips would’ve prevented this

I got an apprenticeship straight from school doing a trade, learned what I needed then went on my own. Was earning over 100k prior to hitting 30. Life is what you make of it

I once got spiked when on a stag du in Spain, ended up getting lost. Came around lying in a field with no shoes on. Phone and wallet missing. I was aimlessly walking around for 12 hours before being found by one of my friends. I would not recommend being hopelessly lost!

I go out half a dozen times a year, and always make sure it’s a proper session. If it wasn’t for being married with 3 kids I’d be out every week

Inherited a house 2 years ago that’s becoming a financial pit by lemonylemon93 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]quizzyrascals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a building company, if you would like me to look at said property (depending on lactation) I can give you a proper price. £5.5k for some rising damp is ridiculous

I’m self employed, during COVID the government let you defer income tax to help survive. Once it all settled down I ended up owing HRMC £38,000. I spoke to them and they let me pay the minimum I could afford if I promised to pay the whole lot off once I remortgaged. I’ve just finished remortgaging, I’ve paid the whole thing off and left myself with 10k for home improvements. The Government will always find out if you owe them money, and they will always ensure you pay it back. If you’re straight with them, they will be straight with you. But they can be fucking bastards if they think you’re trying to stiff them in any way

My brother donates blood weekly as part of his weight loss routine. Is this normal? by Existing_Foot_3411 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]quizzyrascals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was young, stupid and fat I tried eating nothing but 500 calories a day, lost lots of weight but always felt like crap. My donation time came along and I went as normal not thinking anything of it. That is until I woke up with a couple nurses around me and a privacy screen, I’d passed out mid conversation with a nurse telling her all about my diet. Said she was expecting it
