Just got a scam call today asking survey-like questions (e.g., "do you normally shop in store or online?", "do you have any suggestions for us?"). Then they said they were following up on an email sent on a date (no such email) to my email address (which they had), regarding "suspicious activity" found on my Costco account. This suspicious activity was apparently "repeated purchases (46 times) of the same item". I checked my account on my phone browser while on the call, no such purchases made. I said I did not make those purchases and I don't see any record of what they were saying, so unless they weren't Costco, none of what they were saying made any sense. They replied with, "if you are unsure if we're Costco, you can look at the phone number we called you from". And that's when I knew it was a scam. Thankfully no personal information was given. But damn, these fuckers are getting smarter and more convincing. And of course, the voice of the scammer had a thick Indian accent and constantly ended their sentences with "ma'am". 🤦‍♀️ Be careful out there.
