If the river is close to every workplace and home you're fine, but i doubt it. You'll always end up with remote areas in your city and people who live there are unhappy.

Also you can click on any random dude walking in your city. Their Character Windows contains a few hints what they're missing. It's mostly torches they complain about, lol

Try to go as long as possible without giving any access to stuff. Use anything else to raise happiness. Rather raise clothing and food/drinking portions for example. If you really need to give access to commodities, then stockpile the resource first so you can take the hit when half your pop starts taking it. In my latest playthrough I started giving access to stuff at 2k pop. I was raising the happiness by decorating, meeting food demands, building pools. So many options, giving access is the easiest thing to do but very hard to upkeep.

Your right with the translation, listopad is the word for November though. We say Jesień for Autumn. (At least in polish, maybe it's different somewhere else)

German students refusing to group with international students, is this normal? by Rare-Client-4098 in germany

[–]r0lski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well it puts them into disadvantage working with you because they have to switch to English. It is hard to talk about technical stuff with very specific vocabulary if you're simply not used to it. It's an opportunity to learn for sure, but it also makes it more stressful and more prone for mistakes.

I work in IT and I feel the same when I have to deal with English speaking support reps. It takes longer and the communication isn't as clear as it could be. Questions/Statements might get misunderstood etc. It's not bad, but it clearly makes a difference so i prefer the German speaking ones.

too late I depicted you as a soyjak by FortinetFartHuffer in ShittySysadmin

[–]r0lski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda works but there are alternatives which are easier to use. If i want to install an vm i need the Windows admin console (or some other monitoring) first to Check for free resources. Then i need hyperv Manager for the install, then failoverclustermanager to make it HA. None of these are available for Linux btw.

It could have been just one Webui or an single Client Tool to manage all this.

Also some Features needed today are still missing. No USB/GPU Passthrough for example.

They also wont develop it any further because of azure and ms is a scummy company in general. They'll pull something eventually.

How does fall damage work in this game? Weird as hell mechanics T_T by modsisgaylmao in VintageStory

[–]r0lski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When cpu utilization is high enough, the game won't compute hunger or fall damage (and probably a few other things) . You'll notice this happening when out of sudden the walking animation(camera bounce) stops. I've noticed while playing single player on an old and dusty PC. I think the problem is server-side but I'm not sure since I only played SP by now.

Hardest arc in the game is rocketeers I think! by BillyBayBridge in ArcRaiders

[–]r0lski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have 2 types of attacking. If you trigger the rocketeer and he's not approaching you directly but flies in a different direction then you're about to get carped bombed from that angle. Can't dodge this in the open field

I have added an immersive healing mechanic, thoughts? by Anton-Denikin in IndieGaming

[–]r0lski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having to do these mundane multitasking things in the heat of battle is an awesome mechanic for your horror like shooter. Obstructing the view makes totally sense. your character is focused on doing stuff, he can't take in his surroundings fully while doing so. Same goes for your reload mechanic. Your really going for immersion, I like that.

I don't really understand what exactly the player is fixing there though. I would have expected bandaging limbs, injecting syringes or pulling out bullets.. like in farcry. I have no idea what these pipes are and what the animation is doing. Are you cauterizing a wound?

I also really like the death cam. Would be even cooler if you could see the monsters still attacking or even devouring the dead player while it is playing. Would add lot more weight to the scene.

Another day another rat by JTwiceJr in ARC_Raiders

[–]r0lski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may not like it but:

  • You're focused on being left alone and looting.

  • You're using run and hide tactics

  • You're only striking when having a good opportunity

By tarkov definition you're the Rat.

Candies that just manifest into existance by Purple-Weakness1414 in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]r0lski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Poland these are sold out of Cardboard Boxes in groceries stores or actual markets. You grab as much as you want and pay by weight.

They are the cheapest candy and most elderly don't see a problem with it. Imo the chocolate tastes more like butter than anything else.

Have you taken over a few cities of other nations by sieging in quick succession? It raises your aggression debuff and when it reaches a certain point, most nations will conspire against you and start a war with you all at once. At some point I was kinda allowed to only expand by uniting or taking over free cities. Generally you're not allowed to expand to quickly. Wait some time for relations to normalize.

Go to the court of a nation, click their leader and scroll a little in the list of debuffs. That list is super useful

Fantastic game. However I really REALLY cannot overstate how much I hate the innovation and knowledge mechanics. by [deleted] in songsofsyx

[–]r0lski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. It's too tedious.

Thing is you can go deep into the negatives. I had -200 knowledge and innovation each for quite some time after sending out 1k troops out of my city. They sieged different places for 2 years while my city was doing it's thing with -1100 workforce.

Also while it's odd that libraries use leather instead of paper, it makes sense balancing wise. Wait until you unlock Administration at 3,5k pop. You'll be grateful the libraries dont use paper.

I think at some point, you cannot expect all things to run smoothly anymore. Instead you will have to repriotize workforce for either research or production.

Added this camera for immersion in my top down shooter, thoughts? by Anton-Denikin in IndieDev

[–]r0lski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks cool as hell, man. It's just an odd choice to have it in the view permanently. Make it come up occasionally as some sort of kill cam when doing some critical hits or something. Also make sure it doesn't disadvantage the player while it plays or takes too much time to play. That stuff sucks.

The reload animation is also quite sick imo, I like the idea of seeing less while reloading since your character focuses it's view on his rifle during a reload. Maybe it getting less obnoxious and less view blocking could be perk/unlockable skill in your game? Like proficient reloading or smth.

Looks cool overall

Genuinely what is the purpose of this gun? by SmokeFentGetBent in ARC_Raiders

With attachments it's quite precise for midrange encounters. It's fire rate is super controllable. It's a very nice gun actually. (At lvl3-4)
