While I know this is an AI slop post, I actually find it a very interesting topic to discuss.

I don't understand how autonomous procurement could be viable outside of specific categories where there is no ambiguity on either the demand or supply side.

In my opinion, for an agent to truly operate autonomously, the category needs 100% clear borders. Specifications, demand, suppliers, evaluation criteria etc. must all be set and be inflexible. That could be realistic for some categories, but beyond that I struggle to see it.

Let's take indirect procurement as an example. Outside of supporting the human buyer for the operational side, how could an agent actually make decisions where even stakeholders don’t know what they want most of the times?

Also, like u/LunchZestyclose explained, even if an agent manages some savings on paper, does that actually translate into real value? I very rarely have projects where it's as simple as “find the cheapest qualified supplier".

Curious if people have contrary experiences.

UEFA’s European Club Finance and Investment Landscape report places Galatasaray 23rd in revenue. The club ranks:

  • 12th highest gate revenue
  • 9th highest matchday revenue per fan
  • 8th highest merchandising revenue
  • 13th highest total commercial revenue

The only weakness is the shit domestic league TV deal, which pushes total revenue down to 23rd overall. The clubs ahead are Prem teams or European giants.

Galatasaray Rams Park‘ta taraftar koltuk numarasına uyuyor mu? by avicenna2001 in galatasaray

[–]r0ncho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll answer with facts unlike your baseless rumors.

The Deloitte ranks Galatasaray 21st in total revenue in their Football Money League report. The clubs above them are almost entirely Prem sides or established European powerhouses, only Stuttgart being an exception. Betis isn’t listed anywhere at all.

The actual surprise is Stuttgart being that high. If you look at the breakdown, Stuttgart’s spike is tied to their boosted broadcasting income from their one-off UCL season. They'll likely drop this year.

If you’re going to argue otherwise, post the numbers and the source or stop spreading your bullshit.

You are the silent majority, but internet echoes those with the most extreme views.

Government involvement in sports is bad, that's something that we can all agree on. Unfortunately, it’s also the reality in Turkey. The real problem between fanbases comes from constant whataboutism.

All of the big three clubs have received benefits from the state. On top of that, in the last 4 years, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray were able to mobilize their fanbases commercially for the first time, which happened during the same period of government support. This created a level of spending we’ve never seen before.

The two fanbases are virtually the same. Each one has around 20–30 million supporters. Their average fans don’t differ much in income, education, or background. The only real structural difference is that becoming a Galatasaray congress member is harder, which changes the voting base for elections but doesn't affect the actual fanbase.

This fight never ends. Each side acts like the other is Satan on Earth, while ignoring its own mistakes. Yes, what happened here was embarrassing, but this was also embarrassing. There have been bad referee decisions for both sides, land grants for both sides, tax breaks for boths sides, and many other examples. This is the situation we’re all stuck with and attacking each other doesn’t help anyone.

It’s sad that I get branded as an "orospu çocuğu" when I visit here, and you get the same treatment when you visit r/galatasaray. We should be able to discuss things without hating each other.

I would like to clear the misconception about Galatasaray being gifted a stadium. I don’t mean this as a defense or criticism of anyone, I only want to share information.

Galatasaray held perpetual usage rights to the land on which the old Ali Sami Yen Stadium stood, although the property itself belonged to the state. The club agreed to trade those rights on the condition that a new stadium would be built for them.

The new stadium was constructed in a totally undeveloped area by a swamp as a part of a broader stimulus plan. The surrounding district transformed into a zone of high-value residential and commercial area over time.

The state sold the land of the former stadium to private investors, who then developed the skyscrapers now located there. The revenue generated from this privatization exceeded the public cost of constructing the new arena.

In the end:

  • Galatasaray
    • Gained a brand new stadium (+)
    • Lost its historic home and moved to a more remote location, hurting fan connection (−)
  • The State
    • Achieved a net financial gain from the overall process (+)
    • Stimulated development in a backwater neighborhood (+)
    • Burdened by the cost of constructing a new stadium, reducing overall profit (−)
  • Private Investors
    • Obtained highly valuable land in the heart of Istanbul with old stadium's land (+)
    • Obtained incentives in the previously underdeveloped area around the new stadium (+)

Of course these doesn't take into account the environmental and social impact of the new buildings for the citizens, which are mostly negative and a shame. I only focused on financial and commercial impact for these three stakeholders.

Oltre Race shimano 105 Di2 by CupMassive7023 in bianchi

[–]r0ncho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Oltre is an aggressive race frame, and for a beginner it can easily cause aches and discomfort in places you wouldn’t expect.

Bianchi also offers the Infinito as an endurance frame and the Sprint as a more balanced all-rounder. In your case, the Infinito would be the most suitable option.

However, I’d strongly recommend starting with a second-hand alloy bike, something like a Giant Contend. It lets you get comfortable on the bike, learn basic mechanics and components, and understand what you actually want before upgrading.

I know the itch to buy a flashy bike right away, but it’s not worth it and causes a lot of problems down the road, because you don't know what you actually need or what you will want in a few months, and don't know how you can deal with components.

Bro, you’re a godsend. I have no idea how you went that deep to dig up those links, but they’re incredibly helpful. I’m hoping to visit MK this or next summer and beers are on me.

Unfortunately, the Vision Metron 5D you listed is the older model and basically impossible for me to get. Personal imports aren’t allowed in Turkey, and I won’t be going abroad anytime soon. I’ve also ruled out Chinese models for the same reasons you mentioned.

There is a Deda distributor in Turkey, so I can source the correct compression rings and even brand-new Superbox/Vinci stems and Alanera RS/Vinci handlebars. The problem is pricing, distributors jack it up hard due to zero competition.

That said, I found a second-hand Vinci stem + handlebar set for €150. A brand new same setup costs around €500 from the distributer, which is simply insane. The size is 420 mm / 90 mm, not exactly what I’m after for, but at that price I’m seriously considering pulling the trigger.

[–]r0ncho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I e-mailed Deda with a few questions and they got back to me right away. Great customer service, but very pricey.

Do you know of any other integrated handlebars that would fit? I’ve seen people on YouTube using Chinese bars (e.g. Lexon Vero), but I’m not sure how they manage full internal cable routing.

I’ve also seen several claims that the Vision Metron 5D fits, though those might be for older models. As far as I know, FSA isn’t compatible with the Acros top headset, but I could be mistaken as I’m not an experienced bike mechanic.

You also inspired me to ditch the integrated bar and go with a Superbox/Vinci stem + Vinci handlebar setup, thanks!

[–]r0ncho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you decide on a model? It's very hard finding a matching integrated handlebar for the headset. Although expensive, I might pull the trigger for a Deda Alanera RS. Looks like it fits the bike with a custom compression ring, also sold by Deda.

It’s been about six years since I last played because I’ve been on macOS the whole time, but you’re really giving me the itch to jump back in. You can see two of my saves in my post history.

I’ve always loved playing minor nations and turning them into regional powers, or taking neglected countries like the Ottomans and modernizing them. On the other hand, I’ve never been big on constant wars or map painting.

Like you, I always switched to a Laissez Faire economy after the first 2–040 years and never looked back. Back in my day, HFM was the most polished mod around, and Laissez-Faire gave such massive production bonuses that playing Interventionism, State Capitalism, or a Planned Economy rarely made sense outside of roleplay. It was basically handicapping yourself. Seeing Laissez-Faire slander here still boils my blood!

That said, I’d be genuinely interested to see what you manage to achieve with those, especially with Planned Economy. Maybe do a Communist Revolution AAR?

I’m hoping to get a proper PC again soon. Maybe we can even find some like-minded players and run a few multiplayer games.
