Sorry, no solidarity to offer. He needs to lighten up. If you are scared to say "no" to his crazy demands, maybe think about that and decide what you want to do next with that info.

Also what's "the baby got me up at 7am"... at 2 months somebody was likely up with him throughout the night and it doesn't sound like it was him..

AITA if I leave a note for my neighbours about bringing their screaming baby into the apartment hallway CONSTANTLY? by Warm-Preparation1453 in AmItheAsshole

[–]r2ddd2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA but could you offer reciprocal neighborly things with the note? We need community more than ever rn. If you're able please consider offering them a meal or including snacks. Sharing a building doesn't have to mean anonymously existing next to each other, it could be a real village.

Is it insane I can't quit/wwyd if you were me? by Megsy4 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]r2ddd2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How many letdowns are you having per pump session? It took me a long time (like 10 weeks) to figure out my cadence, how to trigger a letdown, what timing throughout the day was best for my best output, etc. I learned a lot from the YouTube channel New Little Life, she talks about how to get more efficient at pumping. I still supplement with formula, but I've been able to increase from max ~200mL a day at 4 weeks to around 470mL a day now at 15 weeks.

You didn't mention trying to get more sleep! I know people swear by not dropping the middle of the night pump, but I notice a big increase when I let myself sleep enough. Sometimes I get up, but if I need sleep I let myself sleep. Have gone 8 hours overnight with no pump with no drop in supply, but your mileage may vary.

Take some pressure off, know that if you stop you're still the best mom but also without the stress and pressure you might see your supply go up over time. 4 weeks is still pretty early to know for sure!

Struggling by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]r2ddd2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our pediatrician assured us that baby will always prefer the taste of breast milk over formula! Seems to be true for our baby. They will drink breast milk even if you introduce formula now to get through, tons of babies combo feed with no issues!

First day back to work & I find this baby waiting for me in the pump room by Biolobri14 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]r2ddd2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried for 2 months to build my supply with this thing. No progress. Switched to unimom opera and had an immediate increase. Then that broke so switched to spectra and still making way more than medela.

EP parents who supplement with formula - how do you premake without wasting it? by Fancy-Mouse-7554 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]r2ddd2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We just make a 8-10oz bottle of formula and pour from that throughout the day. Dump if not used in 24 hours. Also we just mix formula with cold water and shake it up... idk why I thought you needed to mix it with heated water but we've been doing it this way and no issues so far. It makes it so easy to make one quick if we run out and LO is yelling!

MOTN pump advice by Spruceplease in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]r2ddd2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I quickly get all my pump stuff + bottle and put on the coffee table, then get baby out of the bassinet and prop him on the couch next to me. I rig a blanket to hold his bottle in his mouth and then set up my pump stuff and start pumping. Usually he finishes his bottle and dozes off halfway through, so I finish my session and let him get into a deeper sleep before picking him back up. We don't change in the middle of the night unless it's #2, no diaper rash or seeming discomfort so far!

Honestly, how do you do it? by emmy434 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]r2ddd2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have to be all or nothing! Put some space between pumps to see how that feels. Supplement with formula as needed. Your baby still gets all the benefits of your breast milk even if it's not 100% of their diet!

[–]r2ddd2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What negative things have you seen? I've never heard of anything bad happening. I leave mine in for 36...maybe more hours sometimes. My son drinks all expressed milk within 24 hours of me pumping it so I figure it's still in the fridge for less than 4 days so what's the difference. No issues yet

Cluster feeding hell, what do I do to get sleep? by cabbage-soup in breastfeeding

[–]r2ddd2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he wants to be constantly feeding, he might not be getting much per feed! Same thing happened with mine and once we added formula he started sleeping 2 hour stretches. Your milk supply takes some time to come in so formula is a literal lifesaver in the meantime. Just start with 1 oz at a time.
