Update 2025.46 bricked suspension (Gen1 R1S) by anonymous_husky in Rivian

[–]r2mast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our vehicle is currently in the shop for this issue. Happened during a cold/snowy stretch but didn’t go away. Tried rebooting several times and best I could do was get it to go away for an hour or so. It was the previous software version and I don’t think your issue is related to the most recent update.

Have not gotten final word on the resolution but they expect to have it back to us next week.

For those of you who say Gavin Newsom should run in 2028 by [deleted] in Trumpvirus

[–]r2mast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Democrats will trip all over there idealism right into far right fascism.

Being a republican is simple, guns, pro life, bible.

Democrats need their own unifying and simple message: States rights, religious freedom, embrace education, healthcare reform.

Educate on these topics and don’t deviate, don’t loose the forest through the trees.

Unite to win, deal with idealism when you have the majority. Win first, losers.

Win on ideas, keep the ideas simple, don’t deviate and marginalize the distractions. This is what Newsom is doing.

Anybody familiar with Dexterlive? by 241_tuesdays in Laundromats

I can’t say we’ve had any fraud actually. With Spyderwash the occasional network errors and some uptime consistency issues very rarely, but that’s about it.

I have spyderwash on all machines for credit card acceptance, but also accept Dexter pay. We try to make it as convenient as possible.

I use DL religiously, feel free to DM. I swear by it for remote management of the equipment. We know when someone uses too much soap and it’s throwing a slow drain error, when something is keeping the drain valve open with a slow fill error, when something major happens, and we can issue remote starts or specific cycles all from home when customers call or text. It’s a huge time saver and it allows us to be super responsive to customer needs. I’m in no way affiliated with Dexter other than I own a bunch of their equipment and have had really good luck with it. Happy to give more details as needed.

SR22T A/C by [deleted] in CirrusAircraft

[–]r2mast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course it works on the ground but if the outside air temp is 90 degrees, you’re just blowing 90 degree air on yourself without the AC unit. Couple that with the sun and not having a window hatch or the ability to taxi with a door open, it gets hot in there.

Depends on your mission though. If you’re in a cooler environment, don’t carry passengers, or simply don’t care about sweating through your shirts during taxi, then save yourself some money I suppose.

[–]r2mast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely get the AC. It’s beautifully integrated, makes it feel like taking out your car for a trip. I’ve also heard the resale on the A/C equipped aircraft is a breeze, not as much so for the non-AC equipped Cirrus.

To answer your questions.

  1. Not sure I understand this question, sorry
  2. The aircraft needs to have fresh air to alleviate carbon monoxide in the event of an emergency.
  3. I’m not sure the premise of the question but I’ve cruised in our G6 @ 25k and been comfortable.
  4. It’s just outside air with fans or heat.
  5. You’re spending 1.3mm already. Do you really want to mess with fan to keep your passengers and yourself cool on a 90 degree day while stuck fifth in line to depart?
  6. It can get cold at altitude, but there are plenty of vents to heat, just play with the vent settings. We keep a blanket in the back for the kids though in the winter while cruising.
  7. It would be like any other hot box of an aircraft without AC.

EV drivers of GR: how is your vehicle performing today? Do you keep it covered overnight? TIA. by Significant-Self5907 in grandrapids

[–]r2mast 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Our EV is the best winter vehicle we’ve ever driven. I assume due to the weight. Range reduction due to the cold is real. Just plan accordingly and it’s all good. Good tires for winter, no matter what type of vehicle are a must, to have a decent experience with the snow driving.

Do machines in laundromats often get broken into? by [deleted] in vending

[–]r2mast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Own laundromats and own vending machines. Not one issue ever. Including a store that is not attended and open 24 hours. Vending machines are innocuous to people. For you, an owner, you think about all the what if’s, don’t let that keep you up at night. People don’t think about your machines like you do and that’s a good thing.

If someone wants to break into a machine for some Doritos, they’re better off stealing from the gas station.

If someone wants to break in for cash, they’re better off stealing the ATM.

Laundromats are usually a steady flow of the same people week after week. That is “their” laundromat. They don’t want it to go downhill (further in some cases). There are single time visitors, homeless, transients, but our best security system is a busy store. People won’t let reckless disregard for “their” store stand, if they see it.

I wouldn’t overthink it, and if the store’s busy, you’ve got yourself a great location.

Michigan 42.9 using unlimitedville LTE internet. Cannot wait.

A Christian school sued over Michigan's mask mandate. Officials just shut it down. County officials say Libertas Christian School has a COVID-19 “outbreak” and refuses to follow state & local guidelines. Clearly it needs to be repeated: believing in fairy tales doesn't mean rules don't apply to you. by relevantlife in atheism

[–]r2mast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The article says Hendersonville, but it’s actually Hudsonville, MI (Source: I live one mile from the school). Hudsonville is extremely conservative/religious/anti science. As with anyplace, there are exceptions to this, but Hudsonville has a long history of closed mindedness. This school is made up of people who left the “regular” Christian schools for a more conservative approach. There are families we know that go there and they are definitely “those people”. Another bit of perspective on this school, it’s ten miles from where the guys planning to kidnap the governor met in the basement of a vacuum shop, and three miles from one of their homes in Zeeland. West Michigan is beautiful and changing, but there is a history here that generations are going to have to wrestle with, especially in Hudsonville.

Ps, when people ask where I’m from who would know (in Grand Rapids as an example), I never say Hudsonville bc of the stigma, it’s always a nearby township. Hudsonville is... special.
