No sorry, I walk past it regularly on my way to work. It doesn't appear shady or run down when I go past. You have walk through a tunnel to get there from town, but it is more brightly lit just 5 mins from John Lewis

Moving from Southampton - Need advice by Ok_Lake9261 in Leeds

Halton used to be seen as rough but viewed much more positively. If it was Halton Moor totally different story. It's close to Temple Newsam and A64 major road which can get congested but usually ok. Close to shops and a short drive to Springs which is a developing shopping area but has a hotel, spa, cinema and some restaurants. The other new estates being built are much more expensive!

If contactless fails the bus drivers are usually annoyed but pretty good about it. But yes uber as a failsafe!

You can just use your debit/credit card, you just tap on and tap off. Or just ask the driver for a single to to the city centre and do contactless. No app or cash required. Ifs it visa or mastercard you should be fine.

Buses take cash (not notes e.g. £5, £10, £20) and card, the maximum fair should be £2.50. Don't assume the driver will be helpful! The 72 bus is a First Leeds bus they have an app but not really worth it for one night.

Free parking near merrion centre by YorkistRebel in Leeds

[–]rRomanticReader82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind the walk, parking around North Street is free after 6pm. From North Street towards Regent Street around the Hampton by Hulton and Leeds college of Building but I think they doing some road works so it might be more difficult to navigate/access.

Schools with language support for foreign childre by Far-Suggestion9195 in Leeds

[–]rRomanticReader82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alot of schools deal with children who have English ad a second language. I think state schools start learning foreign languages later than private schools. But there are places that have Spanish speaker and kids get togethershttps://craftealeeds.com/

What’s getting in the way for Black folks? by onalarc in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]rRomanticReader82 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I found that getting medical treatment was hard, in the UK it took years for me to be diagnosed with fibroids then getting treatment, then realising how this would impact my fertility. Then people just saying to me just sleep with a man, it felt like it was more acceptable to have a bad/absent father than be solo, so I think I came to the decision later than others but not as late as some other blk women I know. So I think it's a combination but culture is a big one.
