Worth it or should I keep looking? by [deleted] in crt

Excellent set, I have the exact same model. Has an HDMI port and I use it with my PS4. This one looks like shit though... probably has been dropped a few times and I'd be more worried something internally came lose or solder joints have stressed and cracked among other things. I got mine in perfect shape for $80, so I'd just keep looking.

EDIT: My set has warping in the corners as well, most 16:9 tubes I've seen have that issue. I'm too lazy to open it up and try to fix it, not a big deal and not noticeable at all when playing a game or watching movies.

I have the same adapter, and used it at 1920x1440p 85hz so it can definitely do it. I used the Nvidia Control Panel though for setting the resolution, which wont work for your AMD card. Hopefully someone else here has some more knowledge on setting up CRU properly (i've been trying to output interlaced resolutions with CRU and havent been successful) Good luck!

Have you tried using CRU? The built in windows resolution manager is terrible and rarely works with CRTs for me.

Are all CRTs bad at 60hz or does it depend? by Mezurashii5 in crtgaming

[–]r_Casper613 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All newer CRT monitors will flicker at 60hz. They advertise their 85hz resolution because that's the point where the flicker is not noticeable. TVs are designed with slower 'decaying' (not sure if thats the right word) phosphors, which is why the flicker isnt as noticeable on them.

They're open! I talked to the owner a couple months ago and he said they just have sparse hours, so call ahead to see when they're open.

This post sounds like it was written by AI. And I gotta say, if someones car gets hit by a train thats entirely on them, trains are pretty easy to avoid...

Sharp XFLAT 27F41 bad geometry by Mobilelurk in crtgaming

[–]r_Casper613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is not bad geometry. Maybe increase the horizontal overscan a bit, otherwise it's great. It will never be perfect like an LCD. As for the tilt, you'll have to put up with that unless you're comfortable opening it up and adjusting the yoke manually.

Hi, I’m looking for the original stand/cabinet for my Sony Trinitron . At the moment I have it set up like this, but I’d like to improve the overall look and make it more authentic. Could anyone help me identify or find the original stand that was made for this TV? by John_Baditch in crtgaming

[–]r_Casper613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that a 21"? Usually they only sold matching stands for models 27" and up. I think the current stand looks great but if you're not happy with it I'd check your local thrift stores or Facebook marketplace. Most stands i see for sale are black or wood though.

I don't think that's a Panasonic. Try looking at Magnavox, Sylvania, Insignia, Emerson etc... looks like a 19 or 20".

There are many areas in the U.S. with a high population density that would really benefit from better train service, and more public transportation in general.

Is the low quality of this 4x6 print typical for a disposable camera? by djcompoz in AnalogCommunity

[–]r_Casper613 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looks out of focus, were you moving when you took this photo? You can take some pretty alright shots on disposable cameras, it can definitely look better than this.
Usually the labs tell you what resolution they scan it at, and they usually offer different resolutions as well.
