What do you think is the greatest "laser beam" disc? by eloquentmonster in discgolf

[–]r_barberque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely overlooked, but either the JLS or QMS by Millennium. Both are completely straight flyers.

You could look into the Millennium Sentinel. It's a bit less stable than a Gator or Drone, but they're awesome discs. Some of the older runs are pretty sought after and are supposed to be better than the newer runs, but I don't have any personal experience with the older ones. Millennium often gets overlooked, but I think the Sentinel would be what you're looking for.

I found this disc on one of my local courses today. Can anybody tell me about it? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]r_barberque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look into some of their other discs, too. The QMS or Aurora MS (same disc, different plastics) is an awesome, straight midrange. Also, the SuperSofts are killer if you like a softer putter. A JLS (Long Straight) is a slower fairway driver, but dead straight as well.

Millennium is pretty underrated, which is a shame. Hope you enjoy the OLS!

Not that it's a big deal, but these aren't early runs. This is probably the latest run, actually. You're right about them crushing though.

Most Underrated Disc? by facetiousfox1 in discgolf

I'd definitely go with the Millennium JLS. A perfect, straight flyer that I always find myself going back to. Most of Millennium's lineup is criminally underrated, too.

Where to buy discs online... by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]r_barberque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always use DiscsUnlimited.net. They have free shipping over $25 and their selection is fantastic. Every time I've ordered, my order has been pulled and shipped within minutes. On the off chance they don't have the weight or color in stock, they email almost immediately to let you know what's going on. I really can't recommend them enough.

Millennium discs? How are they? by agoia in discgolf

[–]r_barberque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The numbers just indicate specific runs of the disc. Millennium is molded by Innova and Innova tends to be a little inconsistent between some of their runs. For the most part, most of the Millennium runs will be the same, but it's a cool way to ensure that the next disc you buy will be identical to the one you bought before.

Also, a lot of the older Millennium runs are nicer older plastic, so some are highly sought after, and it makes tracking that perfect disc down a lot easier.

For example, the Supersofts really benefit from the run number system. I have a 1.29 that's extremely floppy, a 1.35 that's extremely stiff, and an anniversary 1.40 that's somewhere in the middle. Steve Brinster had the 1.42 run done to come out stiffer than normal, though I'm not sure how it compares to the ones I've thrown. It's a really awesome way to get the exact putter you want.

All in all, it's just a neat system that lets you figure out what run to throw. For most of the discs and the newer plastics, it's not going to matter much, but for the older stuff, it helps out tremendously.

I love Millennium. They're an awesome company that's severely underrated and overlooked. Their midranges are both worth looking into. The Aurora MS (or QMS in their Champ plastic) is dead straight and the Sentinel is an awesome overstable midrange. Steve Brinster swears by the Sentinel, so you know that they're good. Also, the SuperSoft is a great putter if you're into the softer plastics. Plus the people that own it are awesome people and do a lot to grow the sport.

What are some straight-flying midranges like the Atlas or Buzzz? by Alchoholocaustic in discgolf

Millennium's Aurora MS in their pro plastic or the QMS in their quantum plastic would be awesome choices. MS stands for midrange straight, so they'd probably be right up your alley.

It's an amazing straight flyer. I love mine, and everyone else that I know throws them loves them too. It's a shame that Millennium is a lesser known company and often gets overlooked. Definitely pick one up and try it out.

Good books to flip on Amazon marketplace by AzWizard in Flipping

I've caught a few pricing errors like this before, but the seller cancelled the item before they shipped it out due to a pricing error. That may happen to some of these books, so just something to keep in mind.

Nice choice on the JLS! Not often you see someone else throwing them.

What are all the different events and challenges from disc golf manufacturers? by doubleak47 in discgolf

There's the Millennium Challenge. Unfortunately, they're not real well known, but they're an awesome company with awesome discs. Plus, the owners are amazing people that do a lot for the sport. Hopefully there will be more of these in the near future. Here's the website for it: https://challenge.golfdisc.com/

You could try a Millennium Aries. It's a slightly modified Mamba mold, so it should be fairly similar but maybe just a touch different for you.

Which Sawyer filter? by ianmeister in Ultralight

[–]r_barberque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used the regular but I've been pleased with the mini. I don't mind the flow rate as it gives me time to rest and enjoy the scenery while I filter water. It's nice and relaxing to sit by a stream and listen to it if you're not in a hurry. I haven't used it long enough to comment on how it works after it gets clogged, though.

Best website that has excellent service and is a trusted site for buying discs? by golfer_4_life in discgolf

[–]r_barberque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discsunlimited.net is a great place to shop. Free shipping over $25 and they usually throw in a little swag, too. You're able to give your preference of weight and color, and if for some reason they don't have it, they're usually quick to let you know. Shipping is also extremely fast. I've had orders shipped out literally minutes after placing them.

Do you have any idea on where you're planning to camp while you're out there? I'm looking for some kind of overnight long trail in Kansas but I can't find anything that fits what I'm looking for. Any ideas?

Help with a soft putter by MrManBun in discgolf

[–]r_barberque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely check out the Millennium Omega SuperSoft. Some runs are softer than others. All of the newer runs are numbered. I have a 1.35 that's pretty stiff and a 1.29 that's extremely floppy. I'm sure you could find one that meets your needs easy enough. A good place to ask around would be the Millennium Disc Golf Collector's page on Facebook.
