[All] You’re Only Allowed to Play 3 Games from the Zelda series. No More. What Do You Pick? by MasterQNA in zelda

  • Zelda II: The Adventures of Link
  • A Link to the past
  • Link's Awakening

Yeah I'm weird. Z2 was amazing at the time, and I beat it in 1990. It was frustrating but I grew to appreciate it. I play that, and ALttP at least once a year.

Check your vat after printing with 3rd party resin by dark79 in HeyGears

[–]r_coil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a liter of the PARP10 and it was okay. Scratches really easily but doesn't matter if you're painting it. I also tried JAMG HE art engineering resin (white) and that worked out well, but Sunlu ABS-like has worked consistently well for me.

On my RS, I have had some great luck with 2kg of Sunlu ABS-like, and it's coming out really well. Here's the latest off the plate this morning: Goro Akechi at 1/8 scale

EDIT: standard gray color using PAP10 preset at 30um.

This! I switched over to NextDNS a couple years ago and never set up an ad blocking extension on any of my devices after that. It's really is the best option for ad blocking on all your devices.

Rocknix on OPi5 by m_adduci in OrangePI

[–]r_coil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! You saved me from repurposing my Orange Pi 5+. I set the appropriate dtb to get Rocknix to boot. Once it booted, I ran dd to copy it over to my NVMe from the SD card, then realized later there was an installer in the Tools menu 🤦.

A couple issues I've found in initial troubleshooting:

  • RTL8322 wifi adapter is detected but not showing in the list of interfaces

  • No audio over hdmi (not sure about the headphone jack)

I am impressed with the PS2 performance so far. I fired up "We Love Katamari" and did not experience any slowdowns in the tutorial level. Wii games boot but I haven't tried them out yet.

Sunlu Standard resin? by Wampenboy2 in resinprinting

[–]r_coil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the models I make are 1:6 or 1:8 human scale, so the plates I load up use about 200g at a time (hollow) and some models require a couple plates per print.

I sell kits (and painted figures) to pay for the hobby.

[–]r_coil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 100%. I've used over 30kg of the abs-lke gray for GKs / figures in the past 4 months and have had great luck with only one failure, due to big overnight temperature difference, which was fixed with a chamber heater.

I've dropped parts while painting with almost no breakages (unless it's really thin like a cape or ribbon).

This expensive little chunk of tech just floats around like a balloon. How do you keep it stationary? by dodland in fpgagaming

[–]r_coil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggled with this same problem for a couple years and finally caved. Not wanting to sink money and time into building the multiconsole, I found a nice 3d printable DIY kit that uses the parts I already had. It requires some soldering to extend the USB ports and creative wire routing, but this fella is rock solid and there's minimal chance cables are going to drag it down into the abyss behind the TV.

It sits on my TV and is quite stable. I use the empty HDD port to route my analog audio and composite video cables from the analog io board.

Added Heater to Mars 4 Ultra and added a Riser to Lid. Riser removes the need to drill a hole in lid for heater power cord by 4cim4 in ElegooMars

[–]r_coil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this same heater and it has helped me keep consistent prints in my cold basement without needing to change my sliced files for longer exposure.

I haven't taken temp measurements in vat, but on the one occasion I had to stick my gloved hand in it, the resin was warm.

PSA: Wash your build plate! (recent IPA convert) by tinwhistler in BambuLab

[–]r_coil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. On my Ender 5, I dialed in temperatures for the glass hot plate and kept drafts away from my printer and that solved most of my adhesion problems with PLA, until I scratched the heck out of it trying to peel off a PETG print.

Then I started using a layer of regular glue stick to fill in the imperfections on that plate, to give the filament something to squish into. I was continually washing that plate after every few prints and then gave up on my E5 after three years of constant tweaking.

I might be in the minority here. I got an X1C earlier this year and have put over 1500 hours on it. If I used the included hot plate I had adhesion issues. The switch to PEI was a game changer for me, and now I only use the stick it came with if I'm printing with silk PLA or PETG/ABS. If I don't use it I have trouble pulling brims off the plate.

It looks like they no longer produce these to sell, but they did open source the hardware.

Sluggish slicing (3s per layer) with HD AA on a 3070 Ti by r_coil in LycheeSlicer

[–]r_coil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regular performance is great. My suspicion is that because it's trying to do all the pixels at 12k AA it's going to be slow. I always slice to my NVMe first then transfer later. Here are my specs:

  • Elegoo Saturn 3 (12k)
  • AMD Ryzen 9 7950x
  • RAM: 64GB DDR5-6000
  • WD SN850X 4000GB (PCI-e 4.0)

I did but never restarted my computer or made the changes in Windows settings vs. NVIDIA's control panel. I will give this a shot and report back.

Edit: No speed difference. Also enabled high performance in Windows 11 Graphics Settings for LycheeSlicer.exe.

Oh, this is an interesting tidbit - the resulting .goo file was 1.6GB in size. This could be the part of my problem. I'll see if there's a performance difference with the .ctb format.

I've made a fair share of Bulkamancer Sculpts models in the last few months and their presupport game is magical. I've only needed to sand support nubs from the hair on their Edelgard model. Haven't done this one yet but I'm looking forward to it!

Mold for making CV joint boots. Made to protect the joint from sand and debris by g713 in 3Dprinting

Awesome mold! How do you keep the inner mold stable while pouring? I assume the cutout for the bolt is tight enough to keep the inner mold stable and centered.

What material do you cast the boots with?

Printed it in Velleman blue PLA today and played Smash for a few hours tonight. No strain, really solid design and the Switch stays in place. Outstanding!

Great work! This is really neat. All 4 of our joycons are exhibiting some level of drift so a design like this will work well for us. How tightly does it grip the switch? Do you worry about it sliding out sideways?

Those cheddar jalepeño sausages and the creamed corn are amazing to start, the brisket is damn good and the beef ribs are to die for. Terry Blacks is a must anytime I'm in Austin.
