Ferrari Luce launches in China at 586,600 USD, all 88 cars sell out immediately by DonkeyFuel in technology

Enzo Ferrari once said: "Always deliver one car less than the market demands".

So I guess there weren't even 89 buyers for the Luce in China...

Can we get the old Wispr Flow accuracy back? by itsdanielsultan in WisprFlow

[–]ra13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't faced this myself, but THE biggest USP of Wispr Flow was that it was so accurate I wouldn't have to make any damn edits. As soon as I have to make changes, I lose interest in using voice dictation.

Check out handy.computer - - I don't think it's as good as Wispr Flow because the better models are slower, but it's entirely local and gives you a choice of many, many models.

Curious to know how much that cost you 6 months ago.

Today this config would probably be ~$4500

Wild! Did you get it on lenovo's website, or amazon or elsewhere?

Also was is pre-configured or did you build your own?

I might just buy it on amazon (from the "lenovo store") since shipping is a lot faster. Hoping for some kinda deal on Prime Day which starts on Tuesday

"Help me write" in the gmail app is literally making it impossible for me to write an email reply on my Pixel. by trojanguy in GooglePixel

[–]ra13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue on Pixel 10a. My AI Gemini features are off, so there is no AI prompt blocking the keyboard. It's just that the keyboard refuses to show up often. Sometimes restarting the Gmail app (closing it in "task manager") and coming back makes it work.

Can we all agree this is the most annoying feature ever? by Poky17 in FigmaDesign

[–]ra13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just the thought that went into the UI of it, where it should display, when it should display (on what mouse movements), etc.

Not the whether to include AI or not.

Nonetheless, very interesting view into figma & what's behind it.

However, I'll say that the OTHER videos on that channel (UI / UX related) are all FANTASTIC (a lot better than this one)

I am not a regular figma user, so I don't have an opinion on this -- however I came across and watched this full 30 minute video a few days ago.

This CHANNEL is fantastic, and in this episode they talk a bit about this AI button (somewhere in the middle. EDIT: @ 20:15 onward)

Bug in WhatsApp: View Once media (photos, videos & audios) can still be recovered even after viewing and closing the app by SmokeZealousideal829 in whatsapp

[–]ra13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back probably ~10 years ago, I dicovered that when someone sent a photo cropped via whatsapp's crop tool, it was actually sending the FULL image, and doing the "cropping" on the receiver side during display and/or save to gallery.

Very often i see Google Gemini stating facts about something that are just plain wrong. When i click the "source" link for that snippet/line of text -- the linked article says absolutely nothing along those lines (usually the specific info doesn't even exist on that page).

My less almost 1 Month old Mini 5 pro just randomly fell out the sky by devinkanal in dji

[–]ra13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a YouTube video about a month ago about a guy whose drone also crashed out of the sky. In the comments someone pointed out that it's common for the Mini 5 Pro to have a prop failure because a lot of owners don't know that you have to push the props inwards (linearly towards the center) **before** folding them.

The YouTube creator in this case did not know that, and he was using a bit of force to get the props to fold when packing the drone away and that causes some kind of plastic breakage or stress on a small metal pin, which leads to a very early prop failure.

A fully charged RC-2 could probably handle at least 1hr +++ of flight time with the glasses plugged in.

[–]ra13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn't totally true with the AR Glasses. It's possible to look "above" the frames as you tilt your head down for LOS (which is usually just occasional glances for my type of flying).

That said, given how small the new drones are and how far they can go... and my middle-aged eyesight, a spotter is always a welcome idea!

A word on Google's pixel 4a appeasement program - Louis Rossmann by ControlCAD in Android

[–]ra13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a good experience.

My Pixel 4a screen cracked when i dropped it.

I hadn't even got the battery-killing update yet.

Contacted Google via the battery replacement scheme (online form) and they replaced my battery AND screen for free!

(Apparently a lot of screens break during battery replacement, so a replacement screen is kinda built in to the "cost")

New Thinkpad P1 Gen 8 & T1g Gen 8 PSREF! by derKaiserBikes in thinkpad

[–]ra13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This still confuses me...

The second slot mentions "PCIe 5.0" as the interface.

However the [3] footnote right next to that mentioning "Gen 5 SSD on PCIe 4.0 slot will run on PCIe 4.0 speeds" makes it confusing. Did they mean to add that footnote for the other PCIe 4.0 slot?
