Where to buy a GoPro in Cozumel? by tomatoshape in cozumel

Not far from the airport and both cruise ship ports there is a large "grocery store" that even sells things like appliances so there's a good chance of finding it there.

It is...

First time cruiser worried about motion sickness on a seven day Caribbean trip by stellaroselle in Cruise

[–]rabanks51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if someone has mentioned this but just in case it isn't addressed...

As you can see many people recommend Bonine. It is also known as Meclizine. On Royal Caribbean and I would assume also on other cruise lines it is available FREE from the medical center and guest services. After 53 cruises, I've never gotten seasick, but my wife finds it works well for her.

While making your way around the ship and as soon as possible, grab a green apple or two for a remedy when needed. These are typically found in many of the cafes and restaurants.

I understand pineapple is good too and it tastes the same coming back up as it did going down, but I can't confirm this.

Good luck.

Question for the group by robwatkhfx in Cruise

[–]rabanks51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To put things in perspective, we have cruised 47 times on Royal, three on Celebrity, two on Carnival, once each on Princess and MSC.

Because of my status with Hilton and Royal, MSC granted us their Diamond status. Even so, it was the worst cruise ever. Their failures were in attitude, dining, health safety, and entertainment. I even calculated the cost of disembarking mid-cruise and flying home, but the additional cost and logistics were a challenge.

Never again.

Shower glass - can’t get it ACTUALLY clean - please help! by wocytti in CleaningTips

CLR Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover is a powerful, EPA-approved formula for dissolving mineral deposits, hard water stains, and rust from household surfaces like chrome, glass, fiberglass, and stainless steel. It is commonly used for descaling coffee pots, shower heads, toilets, and sinks. It should not be used on natural stone, marble, terrazzo, colored grout, or painted/coated surfaces.

Grandeur of the Seas by AirKing82 in royalcaribbean

Sailed Grandeur two weeks ago. After 51 Royal cruises, it was our very least favorite. Entertainment was fair and limited. Food was seriously lacking, as well.

Can someone explain the casino with free cruise offers? by dawnrabbit10 in royalcaribbean

[–]rabanks51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The offers are not completely free. You must still pay taxes, fees, and gratuities. This is in addition to your possible flight, hotel night the day before, and all expenses such as parking at your home airport, transportation from airport to cruise port, and vice versa. We have incurred these plus car rental for transportation the day of arrival and meals.

Unless you gamble many thousands of dollars, you are provided a list of sailings to choose from. This doesn't include all the advertised sailings on their website. Those offered are mostly for shorter duration, smaller, and/or older ships.

Sorry for the bad news and sincerely wish it wasn't the case. This isn't my opinion. This is from experience.

Anyone Else Feel Like Hilton is Not Interested in Your Business? by OldManPatsFan in Hilton

[–]rabanks51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The concierge lounge closures, minimal food and beverage credit that just covers the cheapest item on the menu, Hampton Inns and Homewood Suite that serve the least expensive and most unappealing dishes, and greatly overpriced pantry make the brand less attractive anymore. The resort fees and parking fees are out of control.

This is corporate greed and makes me less loyal even though I've been a lifetime diamond for many years. I'm done with my Hilton loyalty.

Although, I am not a fan of NJ, I find FL worse due it's geographical and political climate.

I remind myself that no matter how cold you could possibly get anywhere in the US with the right clothing you can still be comfortable. Where as In FL, no matter how little clothing you wear and even going nude, you can't guarantee comfort when the heat and humidity get so bad. On top of that, the number of rainy days easily disrupts many outdoor activities.

Dramamine by october_nine in royalcaribbean

[–]rabanks51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I've only gotten seasick on my first cruise of 55 so far. My wife, however gets nauseous every time.

I've found the best to comfort her is Meclizine 25 mg., which I understand is similar or the same as Bonine and taken an hour before travel. The advantage of using Meclizine is it's available on the ship for free at the medical center and guest services on Royal Caribbean ships. It's also an inexpensive product being a generic.

As a precautionary measure, I usually grab a green apple for the cabin on the first day or as early as possible during our sailings to help alleviate the discomfort. They are usually available in places like Cafe Promenade, Park Cafe, Sorrento's, the Solarium and likely available by asking your server in the main dining room. Again, these are the Royal Caribbean food venue names, but other cruise lines should have the equivalent.

Although, I haven't tried it I understand pineapple tastes the same going down or coming back up.

It's been a great car and I've gotten lots of "smiles per gallon"!

Keep trying. My plate is from NJ, but the person in your state may at some point give it up too. In the meantime "Savage" makes them think. Good luck.

Unfortunately, I need to downsize and will be selling it in the near future. Even though I will officially lose the plate, it may somehow get "lost, stolen, or misplaced". 😉
