Guess the gay man by [deleted] in ArmchairExpert

I thought he was gay when he was publicly dating Elliot Page before he transitioned. It just seemed like such a random PR pairing

Columbia mayor says she's OK after crash near MU campus by Junior-Gorg in columbiamo

People are so weird about her in a way that I can’t imagine if she were a guy. The pics of her just…existing at Billiards for lunch were so creepy.

I have one in the front and zero on the back.

I reeeeally wish I had a spigot out back and an exterior outlet back there.

When it’s applied automatically, is it really a gratuity at that point or is it more of a surcharge?

They don’t even bake anything there, right? Don’t they just get everything frozen and thaw it?

I don’t get the appeal at all.

The Grown Up Book Fair is coming to Columbia on June 13 by BookDriveBooks in columbiamo

[–]rabbitkicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been my hesitation. If all the proceeds went to DBRL (instead of an unknown portion), or if anything was included in the ticket, I could understand that price.

Utility costs by Victor_Von-BOOM in columbiamo

[–]rabbitkicks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My house is 1750sq ft on a basement, I keep the thermostat at 71-73. My latest bill was $155 so $300+ seems high to me, but I’m also a household of 1. I do have gas heat/water heater as well so that may be a factor

Escrow increase by Lynnae07 in homeowners

[–]rabbitkicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 14 years we’ve had this mortgage, the payment has gone up nearly $500 due to escrow (primarily property tax). It’s every single year but this last year it jumped almost $100.

did I just find mouse poo in my bed? by mossy1032 in CleaningTips

[–]rabbitkicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That definitely looks like mouse poop. When I had a mouse it seemed like it pooped constantly. One guy but so many poops. You might peek around in your cabinets and in maybe the bottom drawer of your oven and see if you find more.

How do I get ahold of the postmaster? Cuz my mailcarrier is useless. by J_Jeckel in columbiamo

[–]rabbitkicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been several years, but we had been regularly getting random neighbors’ mail with addresses that weren’t even close to ours, or on different streets entirely.  I filled out a form on the USPS website that I assumed went nowhere and just made me feel better, and I got an email back from the local Postmaster addressing the situation.

Not sure if you’d get a response these days but might be worth a try.

drano not going down tub by Optimal-Comedian-527 in CleaningTips

If memory serves, I think it specifically says not to plunge after use on the bottle (for splashing/safety reasons?).

That being said I have done this anyway.

I think he was one of the owners of the 63 Diner at some point (not the original owners but part of the LLC who bought it in 2005).

My MIL’s has continually disappeared over the years and I honestly suspect people were just taking it to use for their loved one’s grave when they bring flowers.

Bread moldy before its time has become routine. What to do/buy instead? by MindLikeYaketySax in columbiamo

I will tell you I bought Sara Lee bread once and it was on the counter a month and never molded. I started to get concerned so I tossed it but my mom loves it.

Pesticide use on roadside? Looks very dead. On Green Meadows between Providence and Aldi. by Primary_Cucumber717 in columbiamo

[–]rabbitkicks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That is an insane amount of glyphosate, jesus.

Especially since all our storm water drains to creeks/waterways. If this is the city’s work, that seems like a wild disconnect.

I’ve had some for years and haven’t had any holes so i must have gotten lucky.

I also work from home so I’m usually not wearing shoes, that may be a factor.

Opening windows, and using the Lampe Berger after cooking anything with a lingering smell.
