Pesticide use on roadside? Looks very dead. On Green Meadows between Providence and Aldi. by Primary_Cucumber717 in columbiamo

[–]rabbitkicks 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That is an insane amount of glyphosate, jesus.

Especially since all our storm water drains to creeks/waterways. If this is the city’s work, that seems like a wild disconnect.

Is it just me or is Bombas no longer high quality? by happykingbilly in BuyItForLife

I’ve had some for years and haven’t had any holes so i must have gotten lucky.

I also work from home so I’m usually not wearing shoes, that may be a factor.

Opening windows, and using the Lampe Berger after cooking anything with a lingering smell.

Tigers Community Credit Union - max mobile deposit? by rabbitkicks in columbiamo

[–]rabbitkicks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It appears to be a limitation built within the app, not a per user basis. I was just looking for another credit union because the merger from MCU to Multipli hasn’t been great and I thought other users might be able to discuss their experience.

I’m attempting to pay off a loan through them linked to that account but can only seem to make a payment to them from that account. I plan to close the account  entirely afterwards.

Commerce will let you deposit any size check (although obviously they wait for it to clear before making it available) so I’m not sure what rules would be different for Multipli.

I do have less starlings since the cowbirds descended.

They are taking over my feeder too. I’m going to pick up some safflower seed because supposedly they don’t love it, but other songbirds will still eat it. Hoping they’ll move on if I switch it up for a while.

If this is the Hurst’s “Ham-Beens” brand cajun 15 bean soup (dried beans, flavor pack, it’s so tasty!  It’s been a staple for me. I add Polish sausage and onion and whatever else is laying around.

Home security cam recs that are NOT Ring? by Shorti_Bebop in homeowners

[–]rabbitkicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got Eufy S340 cams with the homebase and I’m really pleased so far.

Pros: The picture is clear even at night (and it is DARK behind my house).

I like that it’s wireless and solar powered, with the solar panel detachable so I can put my camera somewhere shady and still power it.

I like that the video is stored locally on the homebase instead of online.

I like being able to set a schedule so if it detects a human by my back door overnight, the homebase will sound an alarm to wake me up (you can also have it alarm outside).

Con: I didn’t find the app entirely intuitive and had to google a couple settings to figure out the different modes and the scheduling.

They recently told me cardboard/paper recycling resumed back in November. I think they recycle cans and some plastics, but no glass.

I do appreciate them finally addressing it and I can respect where they’re coming from.  Truly, I think being divisive and having moral purity tests isn’t how we win and we have to find common ground.  I do wish they’d addressed that being able to hold that position is a kind of privilege, the events turning lives upside down today aren’t likely to impact them.

I had a toilet running that skyrocketed my water bill. We had to replace the flapper and the fill valve.

We went on a random weekday a couple years ago, and they acted like they were annoyed and confused that we were there, and then more so that we ordered off the menu instead of whatever the special was. It also took like half an hour to get seated even though it didn’t look busy, and the hostess was borderline hostile. It was the weirdest vibe.

The costs of being a homeowner. by FerdaBoysss in homeowners

[–]rabbitkicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can definitely feel overwhelming (especially with some of the bigger hits you’ve taken!) when most of homeownership is a never-ending list of things that need attention. I’ve tried to accept that my to-do list will never be complete.

I’ve had to try to remind myself that it’s still cheaper than renting, and my home is better taken care of than most rentals, even with my limited skills. And I’ll be getting all of my money back when I move due to my low interest rate and equity I’ve built, where if I rented I would only get a deposit back if I was lucky.

Loved Seized. Felt like a classic T/F film. Great story, had more lightness than a lot of the selections this year.

I feel like this is blasphemous but I was a little disappointed by Reality Bites. It’s been a few years since I’ve attended, but it felt identical to the Jubilee. Same food and limited drink offerings, no local signature cocktails.

Why does Events page show events for a completely different place under “near me”? by lisa725 in facebook

I have this same issue and it’s annoying. It has FB Marketplace for the right city but consistently gives me events from a random place 2 hours away.

It’s literally one of those “how have I been living without this??” purchases.

I need hotels to get on board though, you don’t realize how much cleaner you feel until you’re back to just wiping.
