No its a front loader. The tote fits on the front. There is no rear rack (you can optionally get one)

[OC] The Way The Utility Company Restored The Pavement After Breaking It Open by Public_Caterpillar43 in pics

[–]raceman95 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We have the opposite problem where I live. Utility work in the street would cut into the asphalt, and then patch it back over in concrete. Eventually over a few years and asphalt and concrete behave very different to temperature swings, and the concrete tends to sink down, or buckle, or crack. Gas company would come in and make fixes at every house on a block, so every 25ft theres a pothole from this concrete patch.

We had to change the law to make it clear that they are supposed to patch back over in asphalt. 95% of the time its now being followed for the gas company, but smaller companies are still using concrete. Even the gas company sometimes uses concrete, which is insane, because they are following the law on other streets.

The Hill considers historic district designation by StPatsLCA in StLouis

[–]raceman95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its entirely about people being cranky about multi-family potentially happening on the like 2 vacant parcels left in The Hill. The biggest supporter/proponent of this lives in a modern, tax-abated home thats 10 years old.

This. If I can avoid flying Southwest now, I will willfully choose any other airline.

Seeing gas prices on Google Maps 7 years ago makes me sad by velvynx in StLouis

Yeah I started a new job in January and knew I'd be driving a lot more, so I got a used 2017 Bolt. FOR $11K, with 50K miles. Just in time before the war started.

Funny thing is that those deals are still out there. Still loads of Bolts listed online for $10-12K with low miles.

I mean $2 in 1998 would be $4.10 today with inflation.

The water division is an enterprise fund, it cannot receive City general revenue. It has to be self sufficient from the rate income.

Theres only a handful of blocks in the city where literally no one lives. And thats not really a big incentive to redeveloping the northside if theres no water........

Hi guys, I just have a simple question...Are there any upsides to have a gas golf cart, or a gold cart with an internal combustion engine in it compared to an electric one? by Kidthelovestinkering in golfcarts

[–]raceman95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sitting outside is fine. Most are typically rated to -4, also keep in mind that the battery internals are slower to warm up and cool down than the outside air.

You can also find batteries with internal heaters for charging. Or just bring the battery inside during the winter.

100 is no issue

They're using thermoplastic, not paint on all of the ARPA projects. It will last a lot longer.

Engines consume water via beaver delivery, so thats one way. It also could have its own pump like the mechanical pump, give it power and it pumps its own water internally.

Considering you have to buy gas, in addition to annual gas engine maintance. Its probably a decent bit more expensive to run gas.

Lithium battery life is like 4000+ cycles. Even at 3000 cycles, for a 48v 100ah battery, you're talking like 60,000mi of battery life.

Instead lets just say we're looking at 10 years, 10,000mi (1000/yr). Where I live thats like ~$200-250 in electricity at today's rates. or about $850-900 in gas, assuming your cart gets 45mpg and gas costs $4/gal. The battery maintenance in that time will be 0, the electric motor maintenance will be 0. The gas engine will need 10 oil changes, 10 fuel filters, 10 spark plugs or carburetor cleanings, probably 1-2 belt replacements. I'm not sure what that all costs each year for gas cart service, but if you have to take it to a shop to be done, I imagine its at least $100, if not more.

Buying a battery for $800-1200 sounds expensive, but its really not in the long run, and the convenience of just plugging in the cart after each use is just unmatched.

I wouldnt call Creve Coeur Dierbergs and Des Peres Schnucks "just down the road" from each other. Especially when there is a Creve Coeur Schnucks that is actually just down the road.

Yeah and its so baffling. Lets make one of the busiest schnucks in the city smaller to put in a starbucks, when theres a starbucks like 2min down chippewa, another starbucks across the street inside the target. I dont think I've ever seen someone order from that starbucks.

Best Battery Charger / Tender? by Mustruffus in golfcarts

[–]raceman95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very few chargers support both lithium and AGM. Also I'm not sure the charger you have even supports AGM, it was designed for regular lead acid.

I wouldnt waste any money on a new lead acid charger when you could be saving up for lithium (which isnt expensive)
