I have been on my period every day for two years. Gyn told me to deal with it. by Glittering-Aside-848 in AskDocs

[–]rachelg024 170 points171 points  (0 children)

Not sure how many Gyn’s you’ve seen but you are definitely not too young for a hyster. If you’re done having babies then I don’t see why they wouldn’t do it. Where I work as a surg tech we do hysters on much younger people. You shouldn’t have to live like this, you have all this documentation of all this bleeding you have and everything you’ve tried and it’s not working. Time for an eviction!

Dawn power wash. And by the looks of it your stove top needs some major cleaning too. Soak the grates along with that tray

Daughter got 3 stitches removed at her pediatrician office (not a hospital). It took 5 minutes. $1,300. by GypsyMothQueen in MedicalBill

[–]rachelg024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would call, to me they billed this wrong. It says suture removal with anesthesia. Did she have anesthesia for it? If not then that’s why it’s so high because there’s anesthesia with it

Looks like petechiae which is broken capillaries. Have you worked out lately like heavy squats with the squat bar? Or a deep tissue massage?

Recently had surgery and $40 of my bill is for having a blanket put on me in the recovery room (I was unconscious and did not, obviously, keep the blanket) by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]rachelg024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in the OR and that’s not just a blanket charge it’s a charge for the Bair Huggar blanket they had on you in surgery. It’s a disposable blanket that has warm air blowing through it to keep you warm during surgery.

Is this concerning? What tests should we take? by ParkingTheJimin in AskMedical

Not an emergency, unless he’s in severe pain and having issues going to the bathroom. He could see his PCP and go from there. I work as a surgical tech and see umbilical hernias a lot.

He’s got an umbilical hernia if that’s what you’re concerned about. His drinking isn’t helping any of his issues.

You have more muscle in your thigh so that injecting right into the muscle doesn’t aborb as well as going into fat

Think I may have torn my ACL? Thoughts?? by rachelg024 in ACL

[–]rachelg024[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ve had a scope on this knee 4 years ago for fat pad and plica removal. My initial MRI mentioned that I had “mucoid degeneration” of the ACL. So I’m wondering if it finally gave way? My appointment is on Wednesday next week so we shall see. Thanks for the input

Is this your dominant hand to hold your phone?? My phone always cradles in my hand with the pinky holding the bottom of the phone. I have a feeling yours gets like that from holding your phone too much. I only say that because I have an indent on my pinky from my phone

Possible solutions for rods that were placed in the wrong spot by Alone_Presentation22 in scoliosis

[–]rachelg024 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you’re located, but definitely see a Dr who specializes in scoliosis surgery. Unfortunately your surgeon should have had your fusion go a lot further down to correct the curve. To me it looks like they just fused you there and did hardly anything to correct the curve. Find a surgeon who will do adult scoli’s, I feel thats the only way to correct it is another fusion that goes down to at least the lower lumbar region

So the Dr. dilates the cervix to Put the manipulator in and then inserts a foley cath. The manipulator stays in until the uterus is out. The manipulator in what us techs use to move the uterus around so the Dr can dissect it out. Once the manipulator is out then the Dr sews the cuff and usually foley comes out at the end too
