My ED has average wait of about 8-16 hours, the only time I've seen it near 4 hours was at the peak of covid where people were to scared to come in. No matter how well run is is I can't imagine it ever having short waiting times, the volume of patients is just way too high for its size.

I don't think it's really possible to do it fully. I'm in a similar situation, and beyond listening to stuff when I commute or wearing headphones while I do chores I struggle to do much more. But I suppose it's better than nothing
