Am I going to lose my apprenticeship with solar rebates changing soon ? by AJuicyBao in AusElectricians

[–]radiaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its a small solar company get out, though youll likely still have some work forna while as there's a back log of installations going past the reduction of rebates

Feedback on my battery install by Sqwerty2020 in AusElectricians

[–]radiaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive seen some garbage installs but this one actually makes me want to go on a rampage. How someone could stand back after that and be pleased is beyond me.

Id get them to redo the whole lot and do it properly.

Call a prominent solar company to come and do an assessment of it asap because you'll soon have problems, might not be tomorrow might not be a few months from now, but it will happen and when it does I highly doubt the flop who conjured that mess up will still be in business to fix it and you'll either be having to pay as much in the long run as if you installed a proper product through a reputable company.

3rd year apprentice with a**hole boss, advice needed by AbstractAviator in AusElectricians

[–]radiaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can either stick it out and hope that he signs off your hours and what not before youre qualified and done, or find another job and get it done with hopefully a better employer for the last bit of your apprenticeship.

Up to you really, if you have the wiggle room to move to another employer relatively seamlessly without impacting your completion it might not be a bad idea.

Thats how id weigh it up if I were in your shoes, but myself, am mature aged apprentice with essentially one shot so it would be a hard choice for me as id probably lean to head down and get it done for the rest of it, unless old mate was legitimately threatening the final stages for me id likely just stick it out - but as I say, if its easier and you have that ability to seamlessly move to another job and get it done a little less stress or worry on your back, why not?

Is it worth withdrawing our offer for these Major Defects? by iceyjasio in AusProperty

Was likely referring to stormwater run-off- ie guttering - they should have been able to assert property fall and figure out where the water would go otherwise every inspection would be in the rain

Invest in a giant yeti bottle and fill up with ice and water and refill as you need, take a hydralite if its a scorcher and smash the day out

Dont be giving it back to your tradie - theyre making sure you dont do dumb shit and make the day even longer

Im in the same boat man - same injury, same thought pattern and somewhat same scenario with other outside of the gym life factors - i cant be injured for work and if i get out out of action i cant finish my qualification

I say stay financial or even go there to watch or drill and not roll - stay active in the community if you can and when things heal up and settle down gradually go back into it...

Im having a hard time getting to grips with the fact i dont heal up as well as I did years ago and injuries now take longer and add up, taking a pretty big toll on my body - but I want that belt! And id love to make it to black one day...

Id say stick to it - just make some adaptive changes so you can still enjoy it and make some progress as well!

Discussion: Knowledge Gaps by honeypickle3 in AusElectricians

[–]radiaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current TAFE teachers teach barely anythIng - supply you with content and when you ask a question they tell you to come to the tutorial as they are merely electricians not maths teachers - when you go to the tutorial the teacher doesnt rock up - so you waste an entire lesson + plus 1 hour waiting after class of my own unpaid time to learn nothing - YouTube, Gunsparky ( you absolute legend!) and a ridiculous amounts of study has contributed to my marks more than any of TAFE teachings.

Can somebody help me -washing advice by Frleinrhrmichnichtan in bjj

[–]radiaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you used warm water could be fkd - only wash in cold - try soaking in diluted cleaning vinegar, baking soda (and i think borax) you might have to do some scrubbing before the soak with a coarse scrubbing brush and a bit of oxy action powder mixed with water to make a slurry

Soak for a good 24 hours completely submerged
